West Kowloon Cultural District

The West Kowloon Cultural District (English: West Kowloon Cultural District) is located on the edge of Victoria Harbour in Kowloon, Hong Kong, China. It is one of the largest cultural projects in the world, with a vision to create a colorful new cultural zone on 40 hectares of reclaimed land. The cultural district has various theaters, performance spaces and museums for producing and hosting world-class exhibitions, performances and cultural and artistic activities; and will provide 23 hectares of public space, including a two-kilometer-long waterfront promenade. The core construction of the cultural district includes the Xiqu Centre, Art Park, Free Space. Hong Kong Palace Museum and other cultural and artistic facilities. The eastern part of the West Kowloon Cultural District is adjacent to the West Kowloon High-speed Railway Station in Hong Kong, and a viaduct is built between the cultural district and the high-speed railway station for seamless connection, and visitors can walk between the two places.

This season, the West Kowloon Cultural District features a super photogenic installation art piece - Embrace the Bubble Moment. It is designed by the Australian art team Atelier Sisu and has been exhibited in various places, such as Singapore and Sydney. The large bubbles are made of reflective plastic materials, which refract different colors depending on the sunlight! Therefore, you will feel different at different times of the day, and I highly recommend visiting at night! Paired with the night view of Victoria Harbour, it's really super beautiful! The exhibition lasts until April 7th.

The M+ Museum is approaching its one-year anniversary, so take the opportunity to visit before November 11, 2022! 1. West Kowloon Cultural District I feel like I'm becoming a wild spokesperson for the West Kowloon Cultural District. "Basically, if any friends are coming to Hong Kong, I always recommend coming here. If you like to chill, you can come for a picnic and sunbathe. If you like art and culture, you can go to M+ or the Palace Museum. If you like romantic and artistic things, you can come and watch the sunset feast at Orange Beach. This is still my favorite oasis in this city, full of vitality and slow enjoyment." West Kowloon Cultural District 2. Discovery Bay In a seaside town on a Hong Kong outlying island with a strong European flavor, one can only reach this low-density wealthy area by boat or dedicated bus. There are also European-style clock towers, white glass churches, beaches, mountains and grasslands, making it a perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle and reach this secluded utopia on a weekend. Discovery Bay 3. Mawan The scenery of Mawan may not be as stunning as other islands, but my first impression of Mawan was too good. Walking on the lush avenue, crossing the fairy tale park through the tropical rainforest, and lazy people under the sun, I also feel the way of life here. Ma Wan Park 4. Nanlang Mountain If you ask me to recommend a hiking route with a difficulty rating of 1 star and a scenery rating of 5 stars, Nangang Mountain would be my first choice. At the beginning of the trail, you can already see the invincible sea and the Ocean Park. When you reach the summit and arrive at a helipad, you can have a 270-degree panoramic view of the sea and various outlying islands, with an extremely broad field of vision. Nanlang Mountain 5. Putai Island and Chek Chue Peng Chau Island is a southern outlying island of Hong Kong, where you can enjoy the boundless Pacific Ocean and take photos that make you feel like you're at the end of the world. To get to Peng Chau Island, you can take a ferry from Stanley Pier, so it is recommended to visit both places together. Putai Island Dawan Beach 6·Pingzhou A relatively unknown and quiet island with colorful houses, a trendy spot for taking photos and coffee shops. You can slowly walk along the seaside. Pingzhou 7. Cheung Chau If you can find a sunny day on a regular day, I believe you will fall in love with Chang. Enjoy a cold beer on the beach in summer. Sit for two hours with sunglasses on, watching the sea and listening to the waves crashing on the shore. The salty sea breeze blows on your face. This is where you should spend your summer days. Changzhou Island 8. Airport maintenance area Since high school, I have loved coming to this place to watch the sunset. Only here can you see the picture of airplanes taking off and the sunset in the same frame up close. It is far from the city center and can only be reached by bus, so there are relatively fewer people here. 9. Tai Ping Mountain Peak Before, my impression of the mountaintop was limited to the cable car and the Peak Tower. But if you enjoy hiking, you can take a stroll on the Peak Circle Walk or the Hong Kong Trail on the mountaintop. Watching the sunset from the West High Hill is also a great experience. I visited in the West Kowloon Cultural District (park) during my last trip to Hong Kong, where I caught the sunset at this magnificent spot. Watching the sun dip below Hong Kong's skyline, the sky was painted with beautiful hues of orange and pink. The view of Hong Kong Island across the harbor was breathtaking as the skyscrapers glimmered against the fading light. I found this park to be a serene escape, with lush greenery and modern sculptures creating a tranquil atmosphere. This newly opened parked gives off vibes that reminded me of the Gardens By the Bay in Singapore. The open space was really a strong contrast to the tight and small spaces that Hong Kong is notorious for. This is my favourite park in Hong Kong! - I want to win tickets to visit Hong Kong again as I love exploring the bustling markets of Mong Kok, hiking scenic trails in Hong Kong's country parks (like Dragon's Back), and indulging in mouthwatering dim sum! #winhkflight

The Australian art team Atelier Sisu captures the beautiful moment of soap bubbles and turns it into a large-scale art installation 'Embrace the Bubbles Moment'. During a break from a conference in Hong Kong, I roamed around the city and found a place where you can leisurely spend an afternoon. · 📍West Kowloon Cultural District Not only does this area have the M+ Museum and the Hong Kong Palace Museum, but it also offers a broad view of the entire Hong Kong Island skyline. The key is that it's not crowded, so you don't have to squeeze through people like on the Avenue of Stars. There's also a large grassy area by the sea where you can comfortably picnic in the sun. . 📍Central Market The Central Market was an unexpected find during this city exploration. It used to be a historic vegetable market, but now it has been transformed and reintroduced to the public in a brand new way.
