Hengyang War-Resistance Memorial City

It has been 74 years since the anti-Japanese storm. But the meritorious deeds made for our nation will never be forgotten. The significance of this war is not recorded with any monument, but it is an irreplaceable great merit in the history of the Chinese nation.

The monument of the Hengyang Anti-Japanese War Memorial City is written by Jiang Zhongzheng and is located on the top of the mountain in Yueping Park. The Hengyang defense battle fought for more than 40 days, which was quite tragic. The national army died more than 10,000 people, killing 40,000 Japanese troops, and severely destroying the Japanese army.

Hengyang is the only memorial city in Chinese history for the War of Resistance Against Japan. With the defense of Hengyang more than 70 years ago, it created a famous urban war with less victory in the history of China's War of Resistance Against Japan, which seriously damaged Japanese imperialism.
