Rongmei Tusi City Relic Site

The Rongmei Tusi City Site is located on a Pingshan Village more than 10 kilometers east of Rongmei Town, Hefeng County. It was built during the Wanli Period of the Ming Dynasty. There is a cave on the cliff in the west of the city, which is the place where Tusi Tian Shunian collected books. The forts and inscriptions on the side of the cave are clearly visible to this day. The flower terrace and fish pond in the cave still exist. The content of the Rongmei Tusi site is very rich, but it is relatively scattered. There are relics such as Pingshan Juefu Ruins, Xiliucheng, Wandong Cave, Qingtian Cave, Jiufeng Reading Platform, etc. Pingshan Juefu is more famous. The ruins of Juefu in Pingshan, commonly known as Wanquan Cave, are located on the cliffs of Pingshan, facing the Baizhang abyss. The cave is about 20 meters high, 24 meters wide and 31 meters deep. Rongmei Toast was named Wanquandong because of its danger. There were stone gates, village walls and forts in the cave. On the left is "Jiyuexuan", on the right is "Airi Pavilion", and in the center are "Dashi Pavilion" and "Weibo Building", which are Tian Shunian's residence. Qing scholar Gu Cai once visited this cave. At present, there are some wall foundations, forts and Moyan inscriptions left in the cave, and there is a turtle tablet on the top of the mountain, which describes the process of the Tusi's construction of Pingshan and Wanquan Cave. In the thirteenth year of Emperor Yongzheng's reign (1735), the last chieftain, Wang Tian Mingru, was forced by the Qing court to reform the land and return to the homeland.
