Xiangtangshan Grottoes

There are still 16 grottoes, more than 4,000 statues, the grottoes are chiselled in the best stone rocks of Gushan with beautiful mountains and clear waters and beautiful environment. The grottoes are deep, and people can make a loud echo when they hit their palms and shake their sleeves in the cave, so they are called "Xiangtang". Xiangtangshan grottoes are divided into north and south, about 15 kilometers apart. Because the grottoes are on the mountainside, people can talk and laugh, roll their sleeves, and walk around, and make a sound of echoes, and spread the name of Tangshan Grottoes. There are 16 existing grottoes, more than 450 cliff statues, more than 5,000 statues in size, and a large number of scriptures and inscriptions. It is the largest grottoes found in Hebei Province, and is now a national AAAA-level scenic spot and a four-star forest park. In November 2012, Xiangtangshan Scenic Area was promoted to a national scenic spot. On March 4, 1961, Xiangtangshan Grottoes were announced by the State Council of the People's Republic of China as the first batch of key cultural relics protection units nationwide.
