Congmachanyuan

Congma Zen Temple is located in the embrace of Qifeng Mountain, 400 meters above sea level, 20 kilometers northeast of Haiyang City, Shandong Province. It was first built in the late Sui Dynasty and early Tang Dynasty, and has gone through the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. It has been more than a thousand years since then, and has become a famous Buddhist holy place in Jiaodong.

Yuchi Jingde, a general of the founding of the Tang Dynasty, once passed by this place during an expedition. Hearing the holy name of Congma Zen Temple, he came to burn incense. As a result, he won a great victory and returned triumphantly. Yuchi Jingde was deeply impressed by the spiritual and outstanding people of Congma Zen Temple, and the holy monks and gods, so he funded the expansion of Congma Zen Temple and stationed troops in Qifeng Mountain. Now the "Dianjiangtai", "Yinmagou" and "Horse Tie Post" used by General Yuchi Jingde are still well preserved. Buddhist disciples, Confucianists, and Taoists came here to preach and leave many stories that will be passed down through the ages. So far, there are more than 60 well-preserved historical sites in Congma Zen Temple, each of which has a touching story that is touching.

In the scenic area: the seven peaks in the east, the towering rocks in the north, the fairy cave in the west, the gurgling stream in the south, and the towering bamboos. In the west of the valley, there are many scenic spots such as the huge Chess Master Cave, the Divine Power Fairy Cave, the Tiger Head Camel Hump, the Snail Stone, the Cave for Seeking Children, the Tiger Cave, the Eight Immortals Terrace, the Goshawk Stone, the monks' martial arts field, and the Happiness Garden. Congma Zen Temple is a thousand-year-old temple, with thousands of green bamboos, strange rocks, oak trees, birds singing and flowers blooming, beautiful scenery, fresh air, warm winter and cool summer, and pleasant climate. In October, the mountains are covered with red leaves, and in November, magpies meet, making people feel relaxed and happy in the natural ecological environment.

It is also called "Qifeng Temple". Because of the dangerous peaks standing in clusters around it, it is named "Congma Temple". The late Zhao Puchu, former president of the Chinese Buddhist Association, wrote the name of the temple. It is located in the mountains at the junction of Haiyang and Rushan, about 20 li northeast of Panshi Town, Haiyang City. It was first built in the Sui Dynasty and rebuilt in the second year of Emperor Xianfeng's reign in the Qing Dynasty. It is said that Yuchi Jingde, a founding hero of the Tang Dynasty, once raised horses here and presided over the expansion of the temple. In 1993, Congma Zen Temple was listed as an important provincial Buddhist activity site by the Provincial Religious Affairs Administration.
