Kumamoto is the largest.
Original Text
There are 21 government and military cemeteries in Kumamoto Prefecture, but the number of dead in the war is 980, the largest in the prefecture. This is because it is close to Taharazaka, which became the largest fierce battlefield of the Satsuma War. There is no private parking lot, so you can cross the pedestrian bridge from the town hall on the other side of the national highway. The site was well maintained and there was a toilet.

It is a graveyard adjacent to the park, and it is said that it is not a general grave, but a place where the former war dead are buried. Many tombstones are lined up. There was a commentary sign next to the entrance.

At the tomb of Meiji government soldiers who died in the fierce battles of Taharazaka, Yoshitsugu Pass, and Yokohirayama during the Seinan War (1877). It is the largest of the many government cemeteries. It was a very fierce battle that I didn't know at all, and I heard the story of the volunteer guide, and it was found that many soldiers from all over the country participated. I realized that war was always a sad event.
