"Huangpodong Reservoir" is located in the Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area of Guangzhou City, 5A level, built in 1956. The reservoir is the second largest artificial reservoir in Baiyun Mountain. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides and water on one side. The scenery is beautiful. Next to Huangpo Cave, is the campus of Guangzhou Foreign Languages College. Meihua Valley and the lake have fishing areas, Meihua Valley, and Metasequoia forest. Diagonally opposite the reservoir is the Pearl Tower Shuiyuege Lake. Baiyun Mountain is very large, most people will choose to go up the mountain from the south gate, to the mountaintop park and then to Moxingling. I prefer to go up the mountain from the west gate, because I can go to Huangpodong Reservoir here. It is rumored that when Zodiac Po returned to his hometown from Hainan, he passed through Baiyun Mountain and taught textile technology to the local people. People called the place where Zodiac Popo lived in Huangpodong. Later, the villagers stopped the stream to build a dam, and it became the current Huangpodong Reservoir. The reservoir is surrounded by mountains on three sides, surrounded by trees, and bamboo forests cover the sky and the sun. November-March is the most beautiful season of the reservoir. Now the maple leaves around the reservoir are red, the mesh is red, and the plum blossoms are also blooming... intoxicating!
This reservoir was built for irrigation farmland, and now it is urbanized, and it has become a pearl of Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area, making it a complete scenic spot with mountains and waters.
Huangpodong Reservoir is the most beautiful lake view of Baiyun Mountain. In the early winter, the megawood turned yellow, which was interesting to the green lake. It is also one of the best places to watch the sunset. The sunset dyes the entire lake red, which is extremely spectacular. I used to only know climbing mountains, rarely come to Huangpodong Reservoir, it turned out that this is the most beautiful place in Baiyun Mountain.
