Guangzhou Liberation Statue

The statue of the liberation of Guangzhou was redesigned by Pan He and Liang Mingcheng in 1979 and built in 1980. It is like a seal carved by a giant stone and is on the ground in Guangzhou. The front of the statue is engraved with the inscription of Ye Jianying, the first mayor of Guangzhou after liberation: "Guangzhou Liberation Memorial on October 14, 1949", and the four corners are engraved with the printed text "All power belongs to the people".

The Guangzhou Liberation Memorial is in the center of Haizhu Square, mainly to commemorate the liberation of Guangzhou. It is accessible by subway line 2 and line 6 Haizhu Square Station. After the upgrade of Haizhu Square in 2018, the vehicle was rerouted, and people can visit the stone statues up close, plus the light show at night, making the liberation memorial area a tourist punching point.

The environment near the Guangzhou Liberation Memorial is much more beautiful than before, but because on the side of the road, it is a pity that tourists are not convenient to get close to the memorial. According to the current location, it is a traffic main road, and it is difficult to set aside a large square for tourists to take pictures like a foreign country.

The Guangzhou Liberation Memorial Statue on the Central Ring of Haizhu Square is a statue of Mao Zedong built by the Guangzhou People's Government in commemoration of the liberation of Guangzhou in 1959 by Yin Jichang during the 1969 Cultural Revolution. The statue is demolished by Pan He and Liang Mingcheng. In 1979, the statue of liberation in Guangzhou was redesigned and reconstructed as granite in commemoration of the liberation of Guangzhou in 1980. Rock sculpture base is 3.6 meters high, 4.3 meters long and 11.5 meters high, sitting north and facing south. The main body is a PLA soldier shoulder back millet bag, left barge shell gun waist, bullet belt, right hand rifle, left hand embrace bouquet, head up and chest, like a huge stone carving of a seal Qin on the front of the statue seat in Guangzhou, engraving the first Guangzhou Long Leaf Sword after liberation. The English inscription "Guangzhou Liberation Memorial on October 14, 1949" and the four corners of the inscription "All powers belong to the people" are inscribed respectively. Faced with the endless stream of people in Liberation Bridge every day, this remarkable statue awakens the people not to forget the righteousness of the liberation fighters who gave up their lives to throw their homes before the flag is flying today.
