Dadohae National Park - Goheung Area

There are more than 1,700 islands such as Hongdao and Heishan Island in the Duodaohai Marine National Park, which are listed and displayed in the blue ocean, forming a spectacular scene of the Duodaohai. Hongdo (2 hours and 30 minutes from Mokpo), famous for its stunning sunset views, and Jindo, where the "Miracle of Moses" occurred, are worth a visit. In Jindo, every year on April 25, the day before the miracle, the sea water will gradually drop. At around 16:00 the next day (April 26), the sea water dropped sharply, and a flat road about 40 meters wide and 3 kilometers long appeared, connecting the two islands, and people could walk through the road to the opposite island. You can also pick up seashells and catch crabs and shrimps on the avenue. After more than 10 minutes, the sea began to rise, and the tide became higher and higher, and the avenue gradually narrowed. By 18:10 or so, the sea water was completely closed and turned into a vast expanse again. Countless tourists come to see it every year. On the day of the spectacle, local residents will hold the "Lingdeng Festival" to pay homage to their ancestors and pray for good weather. According to scientists' research, this sea spectacle is caused by the unique tidal action.
