Liumingchuan Former Residence

It is located 2 kilometers north of Daqian Mountain, the peak of Zipeng Mountain in Feixi County. Covering an area of nearly 100 acres, there are two deep ditches inside and outside. The surrounding walls are made of stone, and there are five bunkers built on them. There is a large suspension bridge (now converted into a stone bridge) in the southeast and northeast corners of the former residence. Each bridge has seven gatehouses on two floors. In the old days, soldiers and brave soldiers lived to protect the polder. After crossing the outer suspension bridge and entering the polder, there is the inner ditch, then the suspension bridge and the gatehouse. Entering the inner ditch is the inner house where Liu Mingchuan's family lives. The main hall has three entrances, each with thirteen rooms. The courtyard between the first entrance and the second entrance is a cloister box, and the third entrance is a two-story hall, mainly for women's families. The entrance of the main hall faces the crescent pond in the outer ditch. The inner string of the two sharp corners of the crescent pond is a rectangular lotus pond with a flowerbed. The southwest corner of the main hall is a western-style building, with three rooms and two floors, small and exquisite, with books upstairs and people living downstairs. To the north of the main hall is another two-story, five-room "Steel Fork Building". It is said that there is a "Tiger Cave" on the side of Daqian Mountain opposite the former residence, so a "Steel Fork Building" was specially built for "suppressing evil and towns". The "Pan Pavilion" was specially built by Liu Mingchuan to display the national treasure "Guojizi Baipan". Located behind the "Steel Fork Building", it is surrounded by water and can only be connected by a stone bridge. In January 1950, Mr. Liu Suzeng, the great-grandson of Liu Mingchuan, personally came to Beijing to protect the plate and dedicated the "White Plate of Guo Jizi" to the country. Since then, this "white plate of Guo Jizi" has been kept in the Chinese History Museum.
