I felt the history from the feeling of wood used in the main shrine.

This shrine, Tsugami Daijingu, was built on the "Inishie Highway" where the old streets of Esashi Town remain. I passed through the torii gate beside the Inishie Highway and headed for the main shrine. I thought the main shrine was a fairly old shrine because of the feeling of the wood used, but it is actually the oldest shrine in Hokkaido. The date of its founding is unknown, but according to legend, it is said that it was about 570 years ago, Bunan 4 years (1447 years).

An old shrine on the Inishie Highway in Esashi. It is said to be the oldest shrine in Hokkaido. Esashi Shrine prospered by fishing. There is a shrine office beside the torii gate, and you can also get a red stamp. There was also a mountain car warehouse next to the Yokoyama family residence.
