Site of Mangcheng Ancient City

The ancient city of Mangcheng in Dujiangyan is located in Mangcheng Village, Qingcheng Township, Dujiangyan City. The plan of the city site is a relatively regular rectangle, and the city wall is divided into two circles: the outer circle is about 350 meters long from north to south, about 300 meters wide from east to west, and covers an area of about 105,000 square meters; the inner circle is 300 meters long from north to south and about 240 meters wide from east to west. The Mangcheng site is a relatively well-preserved city wall in the prehistoric city site of the Chengdu Plain. During the trial excavation in 1996, many pottery and stone tools dating back 4,000 years were unearthed at the site.
