Chenxiang Temple

Chenxiang Nunnery was built in AD 1783. At the beginning of its completion, there were three main halls, several golden Buddhas, and the incense was very prosperous. People use "thousands of worshippers in the day and ten thousand lights in the night" to describe the grand occasion of Chenxiang Temple. Unfortunately, most of the nunnery was destroyed in the early 1950s. only the Flying Pigeon Pagoda and a statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva remained. In the summer of 1999, the abbot of Master Huizheng first repaired this nunnery, which was maintained by incense. By the autumn of 2012, under the strong support of the government and all parties, Chenxiang Nunnery was rebuilt on the basis of the original site and began to take shape. In October of the same year On the 18th, the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee of Yongzhou City, Hunan Province approved the renaming of Chenxiang Nunnery as "Chenxiang Temple". Leaders at all levels in Dong'an County have visited Chenxiang Temple many times to inspect and guide the construction of the temple. In the early spring of 2015, he invited Master Sheng An to serve as the abbot of Chenxiang Temple. What is particularly amazing is that an agarwood tree in the monastery that had been withered for several years accompanied the arrival of Master Sheng'an. The dead tree grew green again in spring, and the agarwood tree that had never bloomed for decades was full of flowers and branches.
