Dago

The Dago area, Bandung, West Java is one of the areas visited by many tourists. Dago, which is located in the north of the city of Bandung, is also known as Coblong. Menurut catatan sejarah, Dago sudah dikenal sejak era kolonial Belanda. Saat itu, warga Bandung bagian utara biasa pergi ke pasar melewati jalur setapak secara beramai-ramai. Faktor keamanan menjadi alasannya.Bandung utara di masa lalu adalah daerah yang dikuasai gerombolan perampok. Selain itu, banyak pula hewan buas yang menghuni area hutan, khususnya hutan yang terletak di sekitar Terminal Dago saat ini. Karena itu, warga senantiasa pergi secara ramai-ramai dalam rombongan.

Dago adalah salah satu kelurahan di Kecamatan Coblong, Kota Bandung, Jawa Barat, IndonesiaDago, dagoan berasal dari bahasa sunda yang artinya "menunggu", pada zaman dahulu pada masa penjajahan Belanda, penduduk di daerah utara Bandung memiliki kebiasaan untuk saling menunggu untuk pergi bersama-sama ke kota, yang mana pada masa itu, rute yang ditempuh menuju kota melewati daerah yang masih tergolong sepi dan rawan binatang buas, terutama di daerah hutan di sekitar terminal Dago sekarang.
