Huangfu Mountain

National Forest Park and Provincial Nature Reserve. Located 35 kilometers west of Chuzhou City, with a total area of ​​about 4,000 square meters. Formerly known as Quting Mountain, it was called Huangfu Garrison Mountain or Huangfu Mountain for short because General Huangfu Hui of the Southern Tang Dynasty stationed his troops there. The main peak, Beijiangjunling, is 399.2 meters high and is the highest peak in eastern Anhui. There is a beacon tower built by the Southern Tang Dynasty on the top of the peak. There is also a four-story tower-shaped, more than 10-meter-high fire-watching tower on the existing site, where you can climb up and overlook. The main attractions include General Well, Mituo Temple, Jinjia Creek, Happy Forest, and Egret Island. Huangfu Mountain is located in the subtropics, with sufficient rainfall and lush forests. The forest coverage rate is more than 95%. There are 114 species of wild plants, including more than 10 protected tree species such as ginkgo, yellow sandalwood, and tulip tree; more than 130 species of wild animals, 26 provincial protected animals; 127 species of birds, including tens of thousands of summer egrets every year, sometimes up to 100,000, which is very spectacular. General Well: Located not far from the north slope of the beacon tower on the north side of General Ridge in Huangfu Mountain, it is built with stones. The diameter of the well mouth is about 70 cm, the depth is no more than 10 meters, and the water surface is about 3 meters from the well mouth. According to records, this well was dug out with a steel gun when Huang Fuhui was stationed in Huangfu Mountain to solve the problem of water for the soldiers, and the General Well got its name from this. The well water is clear and never dries up all year round, and the water depth is always kept at a scale. The water level does not drop even if there is no rain for a long time; the water level does not rise even if it rains continuously.
