Breathtaking during cherry blossom season
I visited a number of places in the Tohoku region during the sakura hana-mi season, and the most memorable was Seiunji. Beautiful weeping cherry trees of bright pink and pure white blossoms with bran...
It is a weeping cherry blossom called Seiunji. The weeping cherry blossoms, which are 600 years old, are the largest in the prefecture, so they are designated as natural monuments in Saitama Prefecture. Not only one weeping cherry blossom in Seiunji Temple is in bloom, but many of them are in bloom, so it is spectacular. Lights are also lit up on weekends when the weeping cherry blossoms are in full bloom. This year's light up is the 4th day of 3/25 (Friday) 3/26 (Sat) 4/1 (Friday) 4/2 (Sat).
Perhaps due to the effects of global warming, it blooms in 3 in the order of 々 from mid- to late white weeping cherry blossoms and red weeping cherry blossoms. The atmosphere of buildings such as the main hall and stone walls is sufficient, and the admission fee is free, so it is highly worth a visit. There is no parking lot, so park in a nearby private parking lot. I paid 300 yen.
3 Weeping cherry blossoms will be in full bloom at the end of the month. It is also lit up at night. It's in a idyllic place, so it's fun to walk around.
A temple of the Rinzai sect famous for weeping cherry blossoms
Original Text
Located about a 15-minute walk from Bushu Nakagawa Station on the Chichibu Railway, it is a temple of the Rinzai sect Kenchoji school founded in 1420. Although it is not designated as the fudasho of Chichibu Kannon Sacred Ground, the temple built on the stone wall had a quiet and calm atmosphere. The cherry blossoms were already over because I went there in mid-May, but there are many cherry trees and it seems that you can see wonderful weeping cherry blossoms from late March to mid-April.
