It seems that there are many Kaiyuan in the country, and it feels like a chain temple. Kaiyuan Temple in Chaozhou is not far from the city gate. It is said that it was built in the Tang Dynasty. The area inside is not small, but unfortunately there are some decorations when I go. The overall style is Lingnan, a bit fancy, there are many flowers and trees inside, the incense is strong, the most impressive is the big lantern, very local characteristics.
Chaozhou Kaiyuan Temple, known as the first ancient temple in East Guangdong, is a place where you must check in when you come to the ancient city of Chaozhou. And the lights of Kaiyuan Temple at night are also very beautiful, it is worth a visit!
Kaiyuan Temple is located on Kaiyuan Road, Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province. Formerly known as the Peak Temple, it was built in Kaiyuan 26 years (738), and the Yuan Dynasty was changed to "Kaiyuan Wanshou Temple". The Ming Dynasty said: "Kaiyuan Town Guochan Temple", also known as "Zhenguo Kaiyuan Temple", plus "Wanshou Palace", commonly known as Kaiyuan Temple has been used to this day.
Detailed introduction
Kaiyuan Town Guochan Temple is located in the center of Chaozhou City. Formerly known as Yufeng Temple. Kaiyuan in the Tang Dynasty was opened in the 26th (738) and the Kaiyuan Temple was changed to "Kaiyuan Wanshou Temple". The Ming Dynasty called "Kaiyuan Town Guochan Temple" and also called "Zhenguo Kaiyuan Temple". Commonly known as Kaiyuan Temple, it has been used to bless the monarchs in the past dynasties to preach the official government law and order, with a spacious place, spectacular statues, solemn relics, and a lot of incense. It is the first ancient temple in eastern Guangdong. There are "million people's blessings, 3,000 world jungles". The reputation of Kaiyuan Temple was determined as a key cultural relics protection unit in Guangdong Province in 1961, determined by the State Council in 1983, designated as a national key cultural relics protection unit in June 2001. The temple is now open to the public free of charge.
Kaiyuan Temple is available in many places. Chaozhou is relatively famous and is known as the first ancient temple in East Guangdong. The location is at the entrance of the ancient city, the scale is not small, you can enter it for free, so the general tourists continue. I deliberately chose to open in the morning and go in soon, so I was quiet. The ancient buildings in the temple retain the characteristics of multiple dynasties while clearly having a tidal style. Ancient trees and cultural relics are also worth admiring.
