The Ursno Castle and City Museum is located next to a very beautiful square, the castle looks solid from the outside, with some cool medieval exhibitions. Built between 1239 and 1250, Ursno Castle is a square castle with a rounded watchtower at four corners and an open square atrium in the middle. Frederick II, the first owner of the castle, was the castle backed by cliffs and overlooked the sea, but due to earthquakes and volcanic movements, the castle has now moved nearly a kilometer inland. The earliest moats have also been filled with volcanic rock. The castle, one of the few buildings that survived the 1693 earthquake, is now used as a Catania City Museum, featuring the Biscari family's collection of boutiques. When the wind blows, I don't bother to visit it.

Originally a military fortification, the castle has now been transformed into a museum with many local treasures and is a good choice to learn about this Sicilian town.
