Once China's first higher teacher education library, today's Xingtan Art Museum - "Xingtan" is the pulpit of Confucius lectures, later used to refer to the place where education is taught, and the "Xingtan Art Museum" used this name, it has a direct connection with its predecessor. Xingtan Art Museum is located at the north exit of Nanxinhua Street, Liulichang Cultural District, a three-story old-fashioned building, originally belonging to the "Beijing Normal University Hall" founded by the Qing government in 1902, and is the first higher teacher education library in China. The library was designed by four architects from Germany, Denmark, the United States and Switzerland. Li Yuanhong laid the foundation and was completed in 1922. By the early 1950s, it had more than one million books, ranking as the most among Chinese museums of its kind. After the 1911 revolution, the ideological and cultural elites, the founders of Chinese higher education and the masters of modern science and technology who were active here were Canruo stars. It is also an important source of the great May 4th Movement and the "One and Two ． Nine Patriotic Student Movement", and is one of the earliest places to study and disseminate Marxism in China. After the founding of the People's Republic of China as a library of Beijing Normal University, the centuries-old text has been passed down, and now it has been re-renovated and protected, and it has been reopened as an art museum. Today, after visiting the glazed factory, I deliberately visited the Xingtan Art Museum, no need to make an appointment in advance, no need to register at the scene, just enter the building. The exhibition hall is now open to the first floor after the entrance part of the area, it is two in, the area is not large, the calligraphy and painting works on the exhibition are not too much, many are the works of contemporary artists, and there are many contemporary themes. The decoration of the exhibition hall is very elegant, the layout is also antique, and the temperature in the room is low, it is very cool in summer, making people easy to calm down and slowly appreciate the works. Because it is a working day, there are very few visitors, most of the time belongs to the "packaged" experience, the exhibition hall is very quiet, only the window of the normal school attached to the window came from a burst of noise, and the quietness of the art museum is in stark contrast. The works are not too much, slowly read less than half an hour to finish, if you come to visit the glazed factory, you can come to see it, in addition to calligraphy and painting, this small building is also worth seeing, and the history behind it is worth reminiscing and commemoration.
