You have to make a registration one day ahead (for free) to get in. It is really interesting place, but during summer is too hot there and there is a lots of turists, vo I can reccomend go there early morning (for example 6am).
A large and monumental square. There are a lot of beautiful modern and traditional Chinese buildings around. the square was out of this world.
Is a must visit place when you in Beijing.unfortunately I do not book in advance in my last visit in Jan 2024zis a amazing China Ming dynasty building is a symbol of old China in modern day.must visit!!

I took my brother to see Tiananmen Square, and there was no prompt to make an appointment, so I couldn't go to the city building. Remember to make an appointment in advance next time you come back.
