Parc de la Ciutadella

This park is a beautiful park and we passed by and enjoyed it on our way to the absolutely stunning Arc de Triomphe. It is a peaceful park, the gardens are well maintained, there is a beautiful fountain and countless elaborate statues, a great place to stroll in the afternoon sun, there is a zoo and a museum in the park, but we never visited them, But we intend to go to these two attractions on our next holiday to Barcelona on September 20. A beautiful park in a great location if you are in the area worth checking in.

Castle Park is located at the border between the coastal area and Little Barcelona. It is named after the old castle in the park. Philippe V built the castle in 1714 and destroyed it in 1869, leaving only an altar and an arsenal. Baroque-style arsenals are now the Parliamentary Hall of Catalonia, which served as the venue of the Universal Exposition in 1888. During the Expo, many new landscapes were built nearby, such as the Arc de Triomphe, gardens, fountains and lakes. Among the most famous are the Sanlong Castle (now the Animal Museum) designed by Montanell, the flower house designed by Amagus (now the cultural center) and the sunshade designed by Fonselle. Gaudi participated in the design of the details of the monument as an assistant to Fonselley. There are several famous sculptures in the Barcelona Zoo in the corner of the park, such as Sore's The Lady with an Umbrella and Imona's Sad.
