Ashenqiang Temple

Ash Qiang Temple in Banma County, about 10 kilometers southeast of the county seat, was built in 1433. It was originally a Nyingma monastery, but it was later changed to a Juenang monastery. The Juenang sect is a unique sect in Tibetan Buddhism, which began in the Song Dynasty, flourished in the Yuan Dynasty, and declined in the Qing Dynasty. Now the Juenang sect has basically declined in Tibet, and there are still monasteries of the Juenang sect in Qinghai Guoluo prefecture and Sichuan Aba prefecture. The symbol of the Juenang monastery is the special-shaped pagoda, which is scattered from the base to the body of the pagoda.
