Do take the time to see these up close

A really interesting place, especially the stelae and the tombs. It is astonishing that there are some still standing after all these years.

Bring a flashlight for the underground tour. The obelisks are a must see in Ethiopia. This an easy walk.

Incredible park

These stellar are relics of the past and really worth seeing although I would certainly recommend a guide as this made a big difference. There is also a museum which is very interesting.

The Stellae are magnificent

There are few Axumite relics available, but to see these and imagine what it all looked like is an experience

The best bit

Good to wonder around the stelae park and use your imagination. A visit with aguide is best as they know far more about the site than the guide books.
