Aveiro was a last minute stop on our Portugal trip. We only had one night but I wish we had time for another. It was a very pleasant town, much slower paced then Lisbon or Porto which was our other 2 ...

A short walk from town, the other side of the highway you find the salt pans. Interesting guided tour explains how this natural product arrives on our tables and kitchens

Amazing to see salt workings that have been in production for centuries. Great to see a place that uses simple technology to produce salt out of sea water.
