It is a statue of Takauji Ashikaga, a celebrity of the Seiwa Genji clan, Ashikaga clan. It is installed in a square along the approach to Boaji Temple. It was a statue that made me feel the Ashikaga family as a military aristocrat.

takauji has never been to Ashikaga.
It stands near the site of Mr. Ashikaga's former building "Banaji". Takauji, the first Shogun of the Muromachi Shogunate, is the most famous person in the Ashikaga family. As you can see, he was born in Kamakura and died in Kyoto. I never come to Ashikaga, where I have a territory, let alone live. Knowing this fact makes me feel subtle.
