You can visit the former Glover House, the former Ringer House, and the former Ort House, which are nationally designated important cultural properties. It was nice to walk on a hill and see the beautiful scenery of Nagasaki City. It's my personal favorite place.

This museum is such a treasure and yet is little known internationally. Although the museum is only on the 2nd level, it is a rich documentation of the largest rebellion in Japan known as the Amakusa-Shimabara rebellion 1637-1638 when Christianity was suppressed and thousands of Christians were killed in the fierce battle lasting 123 days. Subsequently and miraculously, Christianity survived through “hidden Christians” who hung on to their faith tenaciously and lived out their religious practices clandestinely without the presence of priests or religious sisters/brothers. For foreign visitors, you will get to watch a short but informative video on the ground floor in English on what happened facilitated by the staff before you tour the museum. You will have to use google translate to understand the descriptions as they are almost completely in Japanese only. Do purchase a copy of the only book in English and Japanese complete with good photographs to better understand the history of the “hidden Christians”.

The Nagasaki Atomic Archive is located on a church that was destroyed by the atomic bomb at the time, and there is only one wall left in the church. So far, you can still see a clock that was deformed by the shock wave hanging on the wall, and the clock needle stopped at 11:02, the moment the atomic bomb fell. The original explosion library was founded with a simple intention, in order not to forget the sadness of the past, in order to inspire the fighting spirit. The pavilion system introduces the recent development of Nagasaki after the original explosion, from which you can understand the destruction of the atomic bomb and war, and the spirit of survival of Nagasaki people from grief.

On the way back to the pier, I saw this western stone building, the Nagasaki Branch Memorial Hall of the old Bank of Hong Kong and Shanghai in Nagasaki City. The Nagasaki branch of HSBC Bank of Hong Kong and Shanghai, which opened in 1892, began as a memorial hall in 1996, mainly displaying the history of Nagasaki Port. The first floor restored the scene of the bank counter that year. We couldn't enter the evening, which was a pity.

西等记忆
The historical and cultural museum here is very different from other cities. It shows more of Nagasaki's history and culture for foreign exchanges. Nagasaki is an ancient seaport city. The seaport is the main place for foreign exchanges in ancient times. There are many Westerners visiting this city. And there is North Korea and China, which have a profound impact here, and the museum shows more of these Westerners' things and Chinese trade items, especially porcelain.

闲来有趣
The Yunxianyue Disaster Memorial Hall is to commemorate the magma flow, wildfire and mudslides caused by the eruption of Yunxianyue volcano in 1993, which killed hundreds of people. The memorial site is located where the lava flow burst into the sea. The mountain in the distance is the Yunxianyue crater. The museum displays a model of the cloud fairy mountain terrain to show the path of the disaster. Along the spiral ramp, on the second floor, you can enter the watchtower, facing the sea, a window edge above, indicating the height of the waves when the earthquake in East Japan triggered the tsunami.
