On a clear day it’s possible to observe the skyline of New York City from here. It’s nice being surrounded by beautiful foliage.

Right off the Palisades - a great way to see sunrise

Heading down the palisades in the morning will get you that great sunrise over at one of the lookouts, especially the Alpine lookout which has one of the clearest views of eastern New York.

There are no services here, but you can get a quite nice hike for a mile or so by going north -- it is pretty level along that stretch despite the warnings -- the drop off occurs a bit further on. ...
