Highlights: Balikun Grassland is located in Balikun County, Hami Region, which is a larger grassland in Xinjiang. There are eight scenic spots and historic sites including "Songxue in Tianshan Mountain", "Aocheng in Hanhai", "Jingquan Suyue" and "Yuetai Liusheng". Balikun grassland is 1,650 meters above sea level, with crystal clear snow-capped mountains, green pine forests, shrouded in clouds and mist, and unpredictable. People call this beautiful scenery "Song Xue in Tianshan". Every year around the middle of May, the wind is bright and the sun is shining, and the grass rushes to emerge, and gradually grow taller in the comfort of the breeze and drizzle. In June and July, butterflies are flying, birds are chirping, green waves are rolling, and the scenery is very beautiful. The prairie is more lively in August. At this time, traditional Kazakh activities such as catching sheep, chasing girls, and Aken playing and singing will be held. By the end of October, the grassland had been covered with ice and snow, and there were no pedestrians or livestock on the grassland, and calm was gradually restored.

Highlights: Miaoergou is located in Hami City. It was once the site of the palace of the successive Hui kings in Hami, Xinjiang. However, the palace no longer exists today. In 1931, the palace was demolished during the war in Hami.In its heyday, the palace was a huge garden with a mountain of crimson rocks behind it. King Hui loved to travel and collect various plants, so many rare flowers and trees were planted in the garden. The garden has nine walls, and the scenery between each wall is different. People walk through the doorways of different shapes, like a maze.Today, the remains of the palace can still be seen in Miaoergou. Behind the palace, there is a path leading to a sandstone mountain in the northwest. There are five Buddhist caves on the mountain. The traces of murals on the cave walls are dilapidated and difficult to distinguish. On the hillside west of the palace, there are ruins of a Buddhist temple from the 7th to 12th century. The valley of Miaoergou is full of apricot blossoms in spring, and until autumn, the undulating slopes of the hills are covered with rich and diverse plants. Large tracts of walnut and elm trees form wide forest belts, and there are also beautiful alpine meadows in the valley. The huge and beautiful flowers often make the valley emit lustrous red, blue and lavender colors. The air here is cool, and it is a good place to escape the heat in summer.
