It was once the site of the palace of the successive Hui kings in Hami, Xinjiang. However, the palace no longer exists today. In 1931, the palace was demolished during the war in Hami.In its heyday, the palace was a huge garden with a mountain of crimson rocks behind it. King Hui loved to travel and collect various plants, so many rare flowers and trees were planted in the garden. The garden has nine walls, and the scenery between each wall is different. People walk through the doorways of different shapes, like a maze.Today, the remains of the palace can still be seen in Miaoergou. Behind the palace, there is a path leading to a sandstone mountain in the northwest. There are five Buddhist caves on the mountain. The traces of murals on the cave walls are dilapidated and difficult to distinguish.
