it was raining hard when we reached this place and the parking area was starting to get flooded. there was no staff to welcome the guests or offer umbrellas to shield us from the downpour. the hotel is not within the city of vigan. we were ushered to our room by one hotel helper who assisted us with our luggages. courteous and jolly guy. food was typically done the ilocano way. i'm used to the taste and the way it was presented. what i'm very particular about was the repetitive banana being offered for dessert, either boiled, caramelised or served very ripe. our towels were never replaced for the 4D/3N we stayed. they just assumed we didn't care since we didn't bother to request for a new set. the telephone in our room has no dial tone. the bathroom exudes an unpleasant smell at a particular hour at night. but overall, we felt welcomed as we stayed longer. we were allowed beyond the time to continue with our socials. the staff just let us be while singing our hearts out. they were very kind and understanding when we ask for small favors from time to time. might stay here again next time.

Laoag doesn't have lots of hotels. I googled for an accommodation and I chose Viven Hotel primarily because of its location. It's just right across Robinsons Place -- the best and biggest mall not just in the city, but in the entire Ilocos region. The room I booked was also spacious with a nice toilet and shower room, air-conditioning system, TV with cable channels, and so forth. As to the hotel itself, it's got quite a number of useful facilities ... a restaurant and a hair salon on the ground floor, a ****** Filipino upstairs, a souvenir shop, etc. I don't know if it's got a parking lot since I took a taxi from the airport, which is just about 10-15 minutes away. Hotel service is good and the staff is very helpful. They helped me organize a drop-off service to Pagudpud. Thumbs up!

We spent a couple of weeks here during two different stays. We stayed in similar rooms on different floors. The rooms are small, tired and grubby, clearly worn out and way past their refurbishment date. The in room/wall air-con units were 30+ year old units and extremely noisy and not very effective, making a restful sleep very difficult. The bathrooms were dirty, dark and disgusting even for a three star hotel. The lighting was so poor you could not use the mirror for shaving as you could only see one side of your face! Whilst cleaned every day the room/bathroom never felt clean and certainly were not inviting. In house dining options were very limited as was the menu, with the second floor dining room doubling as a bar (with no atmosphere). Staff in general were always helpful. Renovations had commenced during our stay (providing an additional source of noise during the day). I hope the finished product is a significant improvement.

First luxury hotel in Urdaneta city. Hotel is brand new. Modern and simple design. Rooms smells new. Everything is new! There's a chinese restaurant and a coffee shop, ktv rooms and function halls. Located in downtown Urdaneta city. Close to TPLEX, SM City Urdaneta Mall!

Breakfast is strong, the restaurant's dishes are also very Filipino, anyway, it is all kinds of meat, delicious. The architectural style of the hotel has a unique style. The exquisite life that can't be found in the town is that the price is not cheap in the local area.

The location is good, located in the city center and very convenient for travel. The service is very good, attentive, warm and sincere. The facilities are old and easily broken.

The place is very clean and homey. Plated breakfast being served tastes good and had enough serving. Staffs are very helpful, and works with integrity, especially when I left my ring in the room during check out. No fridge, television, and hair dryer. But there are electric kettle, mugs, glasses, bath towels, and toiletries provided. They also got strong WIFI connection. This is not a typical hotel set up where you could expect that someone would assist you at anytime. So manage your expectation especially when coming back late from outside, as you need to use the door bell for the caretaker to open the main gate for you. Not an issue for us at all since the caretaker is attentive enough to assist. There is a limited parking space inside the yard but I think there are available space nearby for rent. The only improvement to ask would be to install thicker curtains for better privacy and a more relaxed experience as it can block lighting and noise from the outside. I would definitely go back to this place. Thank you!

The staff are friendly and helpful from booking all the way to our departure. They even went out of their way to find out if the local coffee shop would be open since it was a holiday when we arrived. We were greeted with warm and friendly demeanor, and we were able to check-in earlier (1245PM). It's located near some of the popular tourist spots, restaurants yet it's quiet. We also did not hear any noise coming from the other rooms or guests. Our rooms were on the second floor. They were clean, pleasant, lots of room and complete with basic amenities. The bed was comfortable, and we had the best sleep during our stay. We had a minor issue with the bathroom, but it was immediately fixed. Our breakfast was served on time as requested. Our rooms were cleaned during our stay. Just a couple of minor improvements: The water pressure in the shower could be stronger and maybe have the bathroom door fixed (we had to push it really hard for it to close). Recommendation/Suggestion: Provide a water dispenser in the room for added comfort. Two water bottles were provided for free and refilled the next day, but it would be nicer to have access to a water dispenser inside the room rather than having to buy and carry water bottles from the store whenever we went out. We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay, and I definitely recommend them especially for families and big groups. By the way, they are right across the street from the famous First Sinangloa (they're open as early as 6AM). A few blocks from the public market where we bought bagnet and longganisa for our ”pasalubong”. The parking was a big plus! They have ample parking for their guests.

The place is great and beautiful and the staff are very friendly.

I really like this hotel, though a bit difficult to find at the beginning, some people doesn't know this hotel and found out that's its just new. But eventually we figured it out, we saw the street sign Calle Jacinto. The room is clean with bath towel, liquid soap, tooth brush, bottled water. Paulo is very accomodating when we've reached the hotel. There are some decorative paintings around the living room area at the second floor. Though you can smell the freshly paint but since I love painting so I really don't mind it😁. It's a walking distance from the famous Calle Crisologo. We walked around and watched the famous dancing fountain at night and we don't have difficulty going back to the hotel since it's just near. The only problem we've encountered in our room is the toilet bowl has some problem but we've talked to Ms. Meg their supervisor and they will surely fix this asap. They served a set meal breakfast, you just need to choose which one you like to eat with coffee or juice. Overall, our stay is satisfactory and this hotel is highly recommended.

I like this hotel as the location is a plus. Very short distance to Calle Crisologo if you want to eat out. They also have their own resto in the hotel although very small. Over all i like staying in this hotel and this is well recommended!

Very nice and Impressive hotel, strategic location with good car parking space. Center of everything such as food, tourist spot, watson, photo taking, food, souvenir and many more. Staff is friendly and caring, smile all the time and very accomodating. Smoker like me is happy as there is smoking area very near to the room (request room 206 then you would understand what I mean for smoker). Hotel Mercante was such a great part of my fun, peaceful, safe, educational, and rejuvenating stay in Vigan (Jan. 29-31, 2024). I had been skeptical at first about the 4.5 (out of 5) average rating that the hotel has received so far from Trip Advisor reviewers. After all, there are many other more popular (higher-rated and understandably higher-priced) options for accommodations in the city. But having enjoyed the Hotel Mercante experience myself, I do recommend the place for no-fuss travelers like me, who simply want a safe, clean, quiet, and efficiently run hotel. More than the basic amenities, however, there is something truly commendable about the hotel’s staff and management, with their warmth, care, and professionalism. Of course, hotel employees are trained to smile and to be polite, helpful, and efficient. But in my interactions with the Hotel Mercante team, I sensed a sincerity and an unobtrusive desire to be of assistance that is beyond the call of duty. Early on (before I had even set foot in Vigan or met anyone there in person), I had been relieved and grateful for the prompt and kind email responses I got from Hotel Mercante while I was searching online for accommodation options. I had emailed other hotels, but the responses from HM (particularly, Solenn and Sofie, Front House Associates) were not only prompt but also written in the friendliest and most professional tone. They courteously and clearly answered all my email inquiries. They were also considerate enough to offer the best room-rate options available, which meant a lot to a 60-year-old solo traveler like me. I also had fun getting some quick lessons on basic Ilocano phrases from Stan (the night guard, who welcomed me when I arrived early in the morning) and Sean (front desk officer, though perhaps his position may be higher—I met him the day I was leaving). “Agyamanak, ading!” (Thank you, young man/woman) and “ag pagna pagna” (just strolling or walking around to relax and enjoy the sights) will, from now on, be part of the limited Ilocano vocabulary close to my heart. I am also grateful to Sarah (front desk), Steve (housekeeping), Paige (Cantina Mercante), Shea, Suzy, and others whose names I wasn’t able to get. For solo travelers and for families or groups, Hotel Mercante is value for your money. But most of all, it is value for your (even more precious) time and trust. It may not be the most popular or most expensive/trendy/classy hotel in Vigan, but all I really needed was a place for homey, clean, safe, quiet, reasonably priced and very conveniently located accommodations—with excellent service and heartwarming staff. And I definitely, thankfully, got all that at Hotel Mercante.

I love this place. I love the villa where we enjoyed the place. The crew were all accomodating and the cable car is amazing going down to their restaurant. It is paradise for me. I love the set up and I love the cozy units..It is expensive but it is worth it. Try visiting the place it is gorgeous. I recommend it.
