Parking are convenient with just a few step to Hotel main entrance. Great welcoming from front desk. Thanks to Christin Loh for time showing us the wonderful art on the lobby area. Few picture taken by us and family especially at one of the art with Harimau design wall. Enter the room with neat bed made up and clean environment. Warm and cozy design with black wall but brighten by light in the room. Entire one night stay was not enough will definitely came again for the next visit to Ipoh. Thanks Christin and Team.

Location is good - very near historical city center. Walking distance. Easy to drive out and also near to the train station. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Room is clean and has all basic necessities. Nice renovation of the place. Value for money and will recommend.

This hotel is considered quite good with this price and the location is quite near to the town. Moreover, they are providing breakfast, even though they don't refill the milk and the choice of food is not that much. But with the price given, I think it is reasonable. Oh.. one more weak point of this hotel is that the surrounding areas are quite dark and silent, and there is no convenience shop within walking distance.

i would say this hotel has so much potential to become a great hotel, from a mediocre hotel it is now. The location is perfect.. within the vicinity of the famous Taiping Lake Garden but towards Bukit Larut. Though it is bit out of the main road, it is still good reach by vehicles. Or if u stay without vehicle, u still can call for Grab for food. etc. I saw an archery field at the back of the hotel. And i know, nearly there is a waterfall area. In front of this property, there is another equally interesting looking accommodation called Kamal Lodge that i can clearly see from my room Room 204. My room, though a Standard Room, was adequately furnished, though the aircond was OK OK only prolly because they use 1hp aircond, for a relatively big room. The towel though clean, was already old and time to change it. Breakfast was additional RM25 though i didnt take it, but i saw the restaurant was big and welcoming. The lobby i thnk, can be further improved. Prolly, u guys can provide bicycle renting service etc to the guest. Maybe they have, i didnt asked. I just wish the lobby and the lift have more soft touch to make the guest more..welcomed? But the lobby staffs were courteous and friendly and accommodating as i need to borrow their phone charger for a while. some newer hotel stayed already have the USB plug in the room though. anyway, i still want to recommend this place for families..as their pool look interesting for kids..though the water looked bit murky. and the big room of course. But ya i want to come back in the future to check on their progress!

To my surprise, the already very clean Grand Kampar Hotel has undergone a facelift in some of its rooms. I’m always here for business stays, so this is a great plus. I love using their rooms as a workspace and appreciate being able to check out at 12 PM. The morning window view from their commander rooms is especially enjoyable, thanks to it being the only tall building in the area.

We stayed here one night with a tour group. Room and bed were clean and cosy. There is a swimming pool and reading room but we had no chance to use them. Breakfast was decent with a noodle counter. Salad was available. Porridge was not hot - it could be due to the electricity of the pot was not switched on.

Like their hotel concept as it is nice place to take photos. Vintage outlook. Room is small but comfortable. However, cleanliness can be much better. Bedsheet has stained even it has been washed. Toilet is small too. There are 2 coffeeshops nearby for breakfast and lunch and they serve good local food. The Japanese restaurant located in the hotel is excellent. My girl loves their garlic rice rice. 😂 The hotel is easy to access to local attractions via grab.

This is my return stay with MU Hotel. I am continually impressed by their exemplary services and dedication to providing a good stay. My family were stranded in Ipoh due to a cancelled flight. Upon hearing about our situation, they immediately reached out to the airline and provided us (and other strandees) with another night's stay. I am truly thankful for the help rendered and will definitely be back for our visits to Ipoh. P.S. The view from the room is awesome!

One of the few decent places left to book for the peak Chinese New Year period in Ipoh, realized that I stayed here before many years ago. Because of the high occupancy, there were insufficient car park in front of the hotel and we had to park outside the hotel compound along the road. Before our stay, the hotel emailed to inform that their water heating system was undergoing maintenance and there would be no hot water during our stay. Great timing… at least they did offer to accept cancellation or change of date. As the weather was rather hot, we did manage to survive with cold showers. The hotel seemed well-maintained, except the corridors - those do need some brush up. The room was spacious, despite having an extra bed. Room was basic and no frills, but they do have daily housekeeping which is good, unlike some hotels that used the pandemic as a reason for not providing the same. Centrally located in downtown Ipoh, pretty much everywhere in town is just a short drive away. However, there are not much in terms of convenience store or eateries in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, so you’ll need transport or brave enough for a long-ish walk. Considering the peak season, this was still an acceptable stay.

Very satisfied for my second time stay at Hotel Taiping Perdana. Got room with balcony and view of Taiping City as requested. Happy with the clean, comfirt and cozy room. Love the location and fasilities so much. I'm looking foward for the next visit

So the hotel was pretty good. Check in was smooth. The room was clean. They cleaned the room daily and refresh water bottles. No complaints. The surrounding area was a bit quiet. But it’s cozy. There’s a nice French restaurant downstairs. It not very high end but it works for a few nights stay. Love that it was near task cermin.

I stayed at the Premier room (2 King beds). Everything looked okay at first, cleaned and spacious. Room was enough to fit 4 adults and 2 small kids at one time. But when i tried to use the tap and shower in the toilet, looks like the heater was not functioned. When i tried to use the standing shower, it got burst immediately and the tube spout connecting to the tap fell off. I had to use the shower near the bathtub instead. Then when my husband tried to use the electric kettle, boom, all power off due to power trip. We called up the reception and they sent a technician immediately, he was surprised to know that the wiring was not done correctly, and was not safe at all. Knowing that the wiring and shower work will take some time, and we couldn't be moved to another room due to unavailability. We had no choice but to leave the room because 1. my baby needs hot water for his milk, 2. we havent had dinner. We headed back to hotel right after dinner, and thank god they managed to complete all the work. Shower and wiring were fixed accordingly and the heater finally worked. Breakfast? The Chinese fried rice was very plain in taste. Even my 2 year old baby refused to eat it. Same goes to the rice porridge- tasteless. Fried meehoon was okay. I'd rather have a simple selection of tasty breakfast, rather than having a variety of food but tasteless. The only credits i would vie was to the front desk officer and technician. butI'm not recommending this hotel, avoid if you may.

It's our favourite hotel across Malaysia. Priced reasonable & equiped with all facilities required. A bit far from old town but easily to get a cab/ grab. Room is clean & bed is comfortable. Good to have a short stay

The standard double room we had was very small with barely enough space on the floor for our bags. No wardrobe, just 3 hangers hanging over a counter. No drawers, just 2 side tables. No fridge but there was a safe. No coffee-making facilities but we were provided with 2 bottles of drinking water every day and there was a water dispenser near the lift for us to refill our bottles which was very appreciated. The room was clean and looked quite new. Comfortable bed. We like it that private parking is always available in the basement with a security guard (though he was absent from his post most of the time!) A lift is available in the basement to access the lobby and higher floors - we could only access our floor using our room access card - good security. A few restaurants and eateries nearby. Good for a short stay.

Pros - iron/ironboard and hairdryer provided in each room, toothbrush and showercap also provided -room very spacious!! -have minibar - have ceiling fan - plenty parking spaces - cheap breakfast rm9/pax, few eating places walking distance from hotel - water pressure good - room price is cheap Cons - deposit rm100 - not really a fan of the bathroom overall, really worth to stay at this hotel.

The reason i choose the hotel was the price, base on some pictures in Agoda. Was throughly happy with my choice! The basement parking is proper and has good spacing. They use card system to go to respective lift, not common to many hotels in Taiping.. safe and secure.. My room, room 615 (probably the cheapest..im sure they have much bigger room) was good for 1 or 2 person..with good air con, reliable wife and safe deposit box. Though it doesnt have clothes cupboard, there are some hanging spaces to hand clothes. The bed is good with god pillow. The sound proof is acceptable, though the corridor sound can be heard, at least no sound fron the main road to the room. The lining (bed sheet and towels) are crisp ans clean too. The unit doesnt have small fridge, iron board and cuttle but they have all these facilities near the lift. There are 2 complimentary drinking water in the room, with 2 packet of local coffee too. In term of location, it is right smack in front of Tesco amd besides Tesco, therw is a mall called Taiping Mall that has everything inside, including Watson, Starbucks, Texas Chicken and even Family Mart. If thats not enough for u, there is AEON Mall about 700-900 meter away..that has TGV. The lake garden ia about 5 KM away i assume. Overall, i can recommend this hotel for everybody who is on a budget, that islooking for a decent stay/transit stay in Taiping.

We’re greeted by friendly staffs even though we checked in quite late. The SOP of the hotel was well carried out with the temperature machine, QR code, and automatic hand sanitiser. The place was super clean & comfortable. The elevator was modern & fast too. The hallway of the room was clean, the exterior of the hallway as well as the room numbers on the wall was very nice. I really like that. The “do not disturb” and “make up my room” sign was operated by a switch inside the room which was nice! The room was REALLY clean, comfortable, well-organized. The beds, blankets & pillows were so soft, comfortable. Air-conditioner was working well. The tv has a few interesting, nice channels. The toilet was clean, floor wasn’t slippery at all. And I really enjoy the showers at the wall & on the ceiling as light shows up when I turned it on. That made me really happy while showering! 😂 The shampoo & bath gel was super nice to use. Thank you so much for the friendly welcome, the clean, comfortable room. I stayed here for 2 days 1 night but it was SO worth it. Will definitely come back!

It is unique! Entrance is through a storage freezer!!! You won’t miss it because of its huge eagle on the roof. Staff are friendly and helpful. However, my complaint would be of other guests and not because of Happy 8. You see, Happy 8 is made of wood and it is common sense that you have to think of other visitors in other rooms when you yell or turn on your music full blast or even stomp around in your room. There is no sound proof. I love this lodging because of its location and convenience. But I had a gorrilla living above us who stomps around until after midnight. And we hear children screaming because parents could not be bothered about other visitors; thinking that they are living in their own house. That’s what makes the lodging unpleasant. If all visitors think of others and do your part in trying to keep some peace and quiet, Happy 8 would be a great place to stay!

The newly opened shop has very good service and great location. Taiping Lake Park is just outside the door. The breakfast is very clean and hygienic. The manager is a beautiful Chinese and the service is very good. There is also a Chinese uncle who is also good! Thank you for your warm hospitality and stay at your home next time you come to Taiping!

This is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was small and not very clean. There were carpets in several places and the hot electric iron was burned. There were stains on the sheets, the towels were small and very old. The shower water is warm at most and cannot be a good head for a day. TV often gets disturbed, so basically can't watch, because the program is constantly interrupted, although the air conditioner has a control keyboard, but the constant temperature function does not work, so the room is either very hot and humid, or very cold. The worst part was that the food was simply uneatable, and I tried English and Malaysian, with roast chicken mostly uncooked chicken skin.

This is the very first time the hotel having a big group of people staying here for a 4D3N meeting. They are not in situation at first but manage to cope with it eventually. When we request for something, they try their best to provide to us. The staffs are friendly, the room is spacious.
