I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. I appreciated the room and its style, and the service was excellent. The staff was very friendly and cordial. The hotel also features a laundry room and a nice lounge area where guests can relax or enjoy drinks. It's conveniently located close to the train station. I highly recommend it!

Hotel location is good but direction instruction to hotel isn't clear. We walked & dragged our baggage thru stairway from train station.
1. Location convenient. To popular tourist IG places need to walk 20mins
2. Food available nearby & mall.
3. Room enough tk sleep with small space to leave your baggage standing.
4. Very basic room.
Comfy to sleep, not too noisy. Thank you.
This hotel is very good location, near Omiya station (Hankyu line), Exit#5 has elevator 🛗 from platform to ground floor). If take Kyoto City bus, take bus number 206, 207 to Omiya matsubara station and walk just 150meters. This hotel is very clean, has all amenities, and facilities in the room (refrigerator and hair dryer). This hotel also have coin laundry machine and ice maker machine at 1st floor. I'm very happy with this hotel and its reasonable price, so I extend to stay here total 5 days.
It was much better than I expected!
When checking in and checking out,
the staff were very friendly,
and it was literally a 15-minute walk to Nijo Station,
there was a restaurant right in front,
and a convenience store in the alley, and everything was around.
I was satisfied with all the facilities inside.
The interior was also modern 👍🏻 my style.
However, there was a peculiar smell in the bathroom,
but it wasn't uncomfortable. The water pressure was very
strong, so I washed more comfortably than at home. 🤭
If you're looking for a good value hotel, I highly recommend it ◡̈

Let me talk about the size of the room first. Compared with the average Japanese business traveler, this room can be described as super comfortable. There is no sense of oppression. The room facilities are all well equipped, and there should be some, because we go in winter, and there is also a big terrace. Warm stickers are provided, but we just happened to have prepared ourselves so we didn’t take the position. It was in the middle of the Shijo and Wujo stations. If you are pulling luggage, you should pay attention to which exit has an elevator, or you will have to go up the stairs yourself.

The B&B is located in a residential area next to ”East Temple”. The surrounding environment is very quiet, and most of them are occupied by locals.
You can take a bus in about 10 minutes' walk. The key point nearby is the ”World Cultural Heritage List Toji Temple”, which is only a 5-minute walk away.
The room is a traditional Japanese single-family apartment with two floors, with a total of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a shower room (wet and dry separation), a living room, and an open kitchen.
The rooms are all self-service, and there are no waiters to clean them. Therefore, special care and hygiene must be taken into account in the rooms. Garbage must be sorted and put into the trash cans.

I stayed at a friend's homestay in Nakamosatori Japan when I was in Japan before and it was great. This time I experienced a homestay in Kyoto again. It was a very cozy homestay, very clean, and the facilities were pretty good. The transportation was quite convenient, and the surrounding buses were very convenient to several attractions. The most important thing was that I could cook Sukiyaki in the room. The black beef sold in the 24-hour supermarket recommended by the boss was great, much more cost-effective than what we ate in Kobe, and my family liked it very much. Next time I plan to stay a few more days to have a deep tour in Kyoto.

This ”Sakura Suk ・ Yongcheng” is really great!
The landlord was super enthusiastic. After booking, I added me WeChat, sent WeChat location and Google Maps location, and told me how to come from Kansai Airport.
After arriving, we helped us plan the itinerary for free, recommended nearby supermarkets and delicious food, especially intimate! It rained heavily when I left, and the landlord borrowed two umbrellas, which was so heartwarming! Originally, I had to pay, the landlord said that I was very happy to help, and I didn't charge 🥹
This time I brought the two babies, parents and children should pay attention to the Japanese residential area at night is quieter, and those with children should let the children not be too noisy and not disturb others.
It is a Japanese-style villa with stairs in the house. The bedroom is on the second floor. Children especially like it, but the elderly may be a bit hard to climb up. The bedroom is tatami mats, and children can roll around on it. Don't worry about falling down. Children like this feeling very much.
This is basically what I think. In short, this homestay is really great, like the caring and lovely landlord, and highly recommend it to everyone!
(Forgot to take a photo of the homestay, put a photo of Dongsi 3 minutes away, hahaha)

YYI HUEYThe accommodation experience in the townhouse is really authentic. The house is beautiful and very comfortable as soon as you enter the house. No matter how you take photos there, it is very interesting. We were very satisfied with the food at the hotel because we have family members who don’t eat beef. Although the hotel couldn’t do it at first, they were willing to communicate and let us choose different foods. Thank you very much!

GGuest UserGood location and modern. 7-11 store is linked to the hotel lobby and there is security as hotel guests have to tap the room card to exit 7-11 to enter the lobby. Easy check-in as there are many staff at the check-in counters. Checking-out is a breeze as guests are able to do it by yourself at the machines. Will definitely return when in Kyoto :)

JJ SCoin lockers, kettle, microwave on first floor, clean ladies bathroom, all provided with amenities including pajamas! Room was also only the width of the bed but provided with a small sit-down table, and a compartment under the bed big enough to fit my large luggage. Location was convenient - a 20min walk to main kyoto area but only 1min walk to metro station and great access to buses going to other areas of kyoto. Felt safe as a solo female traveller👍
PPui SheungThe hotel is located near the Kyoto Station. The room size is larger than many hotels in Japan. The hotel provide free dessert and drinks after lunch hour, some snacks with beer or wine after 6pm. The breakfast is delicious and had lots of choice. During my stay, the hotel provide materials for making a tatami coaster. It is worth to stay in this hotel. I will choose this again when I come back to Kyoto.

KKawintopA Perfect Blend of Tradition and Comfort in Kyoto
During my recent stay at Saka Hotel Kyoto, I was immediately struck by its peaceful surroundings and inviting atmosphere. Located in the charming Higashiyama neighborhood, it offers an ideal launching point for discovering Kyoto’s historic sites. Despite being so close to famous temples and shrines, the hotel maintains a tranquil setting that feels worlds away from the bustle of the city.
From check-in onward, I was warmly welcomed by the professional and attentive team. Their devotion to creating a memorable guest experience was evident in every conversation. Whether offering sightseeing suggestions or promptly assisting with any need, they made me feel completely at home.
My room showcased an attractive fusion of modern design and traditional Japanese elements. Soft earth tones, tasteful décor, and well-chosen furnishings created an atmosphere that was both chic and peaceful. The spacious bathtub, in particular, stood out as the perfect place to unwind after wandering Kyoto’s centuries-old streets.
Although I didn’t have a chance to sample the hotel’s dining options, every other aspect of my stay was faultless. The exquisite decor, the serene environment, and the staff’s unparalleled service exceeded all my expectations. If you’re seeking a sophisticated, relaxing retreat that still allows you to easily explore Kyoto’s rich cultural heritage, Saka Hotel Kyoto is an excellent choice.
Ttktk.Because it is deep in the mountains, the natural environment is very good, and you can reach Jikkoin Temple within a few steps. The hotel has a very traditional Japanese style and a good experience. However, it is extremely dark at night, and it can be said that there is no one within a hundred miles ∠( ᐛ ∠)_.
In terms of transportation, it can be described as going up and down the mountain. You need to take a car to Kokusai Kaikan Station and transfer to the bus to Ohara. A bit far from the city.
The hotel has a different hot pot for dinner every day, all with miso as the theme. You can also taste Ohara's unique miso ice cream.
In terms of service, the receptionists are very enthusiastic. The reserved room is surprisingly large, more than enough for 4 people. The open-air hot spring is very artistic, but it's a pity that I can't get up and take a dip during the day. The scenery will be very good.
I don’t know if it was a special service, but there was an extra dish of appetizers for breakfast on the day of check-out. Breakfast is also very traditional Japanese style.
There are also some shortcomings. You can be more careful when explaining the check-in information. There is a bathroom outside where you can brush your teeth. We only discovered it when we passed by after taking a bath. The next day, new yukata towels were placed directly at the door. I almost didn't notice them, but the opportunity to use them was already missed.
Finally, if you live in Ohara, it is best to spend a day here to play.

DDavid Thai Jou AngI like the Sake station that provide at lobby. And also the pajamas. Even the free ice cream. Great service from receptionist. Only a bit troublesome need to self arrange bed daily due to tatami mattress.
LLynn AvieWe stayed here for 3 nights and it was quite an enriching experience having to sleep on a Japanese style bed. Initially we were stunned by the mattresses and set up as we forgot that we booked the Japanese beds, but it exceeded our expectations as we slept pretty well on it. The blanket was HEAVENLY & FLUFFY - an absolute joy. Definitely a thing I missed when I returned home. The toilets were decent and the showerhead water flow was good.
Service wise - the rooms were cleaned daily and they did help keep the mattresses during the day. We also paid to have a 40mins private onsen experience for about 500 yen. Pretty alright, esp if you would enjoy some privacy. Do reserve beforehand with the front desk. Additionally, the staff were able to converse in many languages & were always very helpful! :)
Location wise - it's pretty convenient & accessible. We were surrounded by lots of cafes & shops that we can explore just by walking around the neighbourhood. Many temples & tourist spots were within walking distance too.
The only irk we had was the noise and soundproofing as we could hear people outside & whenever they walked around or by the stairs. Sometimes, the roadside can be noisy too.. so it did affect our sleep sometimes.
But regardless of that, it's a pretty decent spot to crash when you're in Kyoto! Do give them a try!
