The hotel is very clean, tidy and elegant. the hotel is close to bus stops and tram stations, it takes about 2 minutes walk, very convenient. we had a wonderful time. i highly recommend it to friends who need to stay here.

The hotel is relatively new, with convenient location and transportation. The airport bus station is just across the street. There are many places to eat and drink around, and it is the most prosperous and lively area in Kagoshima besides the Central Station. Check-in and check-out can be done automatically by machine, which is easy to operate and more convenient than the machines in some other cities in Japan where I have stayed before. Because it is automatic, there is almost no service. Toothbrushes and other things can be taken on the second floor, and you can also mix bathing agents by yourself. The room is small, but the bed is big. It is only suitable for single occupancy. It is not recommended for two people. The room cleaning is only on the third day of consecutive stays. On other days, it is just changing towels and taking out garbage. I stayed for four consecutive nights and came in to clean it on the third day. I think there is no problem. It is more environmentally friendly and saves manpower.

It is walking distance (20min) to Kagoshima-chuo JR station, but if you choose tram or bus, the stop is also 100m away from the hotel. Setback is only the bath amenities as shaving foam, face wash and lotion is not provided (make sure you bring your own). Public bath is ok, has a sauna which is good. Check-in and out process is fully machine automated with a luggage storage section too at the side. Very easy. Breakfast service staff is very good, only four breakfast set choices if you purchase it as part of your room but quality is very good with local taste. I suggest you try at least once the breakfast if you stay here.

Typical Japanese-style room, beautiful view outside the window. The camellia in the hotel is in full bloom. Akamatsuyu is great. I saw it twice during my stay at the hotel. It was a pleasant surprise. It was snowing, and it was wonderful to soak in the hot spring in the snow. The meal was also good. The stay was average. Ample car park space. If there isn't, just ask front desk and they will direct you to park at adjacent site, which we did. Hotel did request we surrender car key to them, probably to move car in event of need. We chose not to. The breakfast spread was great, a typical Japanese full breakfast. Was pleasantly surprised by the generous servings and beverages. Room has musky smell so we had to use personal air freshener to at least sterilise the air in room. Else, all average. Thank you.

Awesome secret hot spring (this hotel is a member of the secret hot spring guard)! We stayed in the Tianquan room type. This hot spring hotel has an indoor bath and an open-air bath in every room. We absolutely loved this stay and would recommend it to all travellers! We booked the corner room. The room was well illuminated by natural light during the day and we could see the river from our room. At night we could even hear the water flowing. There were two western single beds but we asked for futons for the full Japanese experience and loved it! The room was spacious and clean. There was a bathtub in the bathroom but we used the public bath (male and female separated) which was amazing. The public bath was quiet and spacious and there was a sauna room. Breakfast was served during 7am -830am with a well set table as shown in the picture. The staff was super kind. Just note that the walls were thin and you should expect some noise but people here are generally used to keeping their voice down. Another highlight is that you can take the bus of both the red and blue lines at the bus stop right in front of the hotel. (The blue line is for Shiratani Unsuikyo.). It is very convenient if you are not driving. The hotel is around 25 mins away from the ferry port and the walk there was pleasant and not difficult to find. Yet another great thing about this place is that you can rent mountaineering gear here at a cheap price, including shoes and rain protection. We rented the shoes here at 1,xxx yen per person (forgot the exact price) and they were very useful. It was raining for almost the whole 5h hike for us and the shoes offered a good grip and were sufficiently waterproof. You can also find little souvenirs at their shop. Honestly, it's impeccable!

People are nice, always trying to help, being resourceful on how you may handle your visit of the island. Top notch people. The real ”could be better” thing to me is, the restaurant that close really early (8.30pm if my memory is good), does server only buffet for 80kY. The buffet is of quality mixing Japanese, Chinese and Western styles of food. And also comes with nice desserts. However, having the choice to get only one A la carte dish could be a real plus. I personally do not want to get a full buffet for every and each of my diners. And if you do not have a car, finding another place to eat may become a challenge. There is nothing around at a walking distance except a supermarket. The breakfast is definitely qualitative. And if you intend to move early for visiting, the hotel can prepare you a breakfast and a lunch box for no overcharge. Basic but good and appreciated. To have another plus, they serves a local craft beer made with local cedar trees. Quite a good and interesting one.

I went to Yakushima Landes in the heavy rain, so I wanted to take a bath early, so it was before check-in time before going to the nearby day trip hot spring from 15:00, but I bought sashimi and beer for dinner in advance.
