Lava Apartments & Rooms

The location was perfect; we parked our cars and was able to walk to our dinner location. There are plenty of shops (ice cream, Thai, etc) and an ATM within a 3minute walk. We had 8 people in our group and thus rented two rooms. The bed was comfortable but the pull-out couch bed was not. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean, no issues there. Our neighbor turned on loud music at 1am despite it being quiet hours. We tried to call the number listed in the reception area but it did not work. We eventually knocked on the door and the neighbor turned off his music. We would stay here again (minus the noisy neighbor).

We spent three incredible days in the hotel and everything we found there was created to make our trip as incredible, surprising and as pleasant as possible! The hotel is located in a perfect location and the entire structure is designed for the comfort and pleasure of its guests. The suites are wonderful and perfect for enjoying this winter paradise. Our room was luxurious, super spacious and comfortable. Super well planned for the best comfort. The staff were fantastic. At all times they were super friendly, discreet, but managed to anticipate our needs. We spent our days relaxing by the hot tub and enjoying the wonderful sunsets from our window. A beautiful and comfortable place with a fantastic staff. We can't wait to go back!
Eldá Guesthouse

Very close to Lake Mi, the facilities are generally simple, the room size is small, the room has three single beds, three bedside tables, one table, two chairs, one pool, nothing more. The kitchen and bathroom are shared and slightly inconvenient. The kitchen has shared kitchen utensils and cutlery. The cooktop is small and can only be cooked for one time. The breakfast at the hotel is very good for several varieties. Compared to other parts of Iceland, the price of this hotel is high (scenic price), but the accommodation service provided is too general (farm level). In addition, there are many black flying insects in the area around Mihu in summer, and the face is rushing to the body. It feels very bad. Now I think of goose bumps. Summer travel is not recommended to live near Mihu, which is very expensive. Not comfortable.

On the south shore of the Myvatn Lake with a view across the road of the pseudo craters. Standard, but spacious room. Good breakfast. The shop nearby sells head nests, which you need in the fly season. The flies are innocuous, don't sting and if they enter through an open window will try to find a way back out.

Last time I was, there was before the pandemic, and it was a five star for me. I liked the view of the fjord and I like the location for stores around the area and when I wanted to go swimming, it was right across the street. On top of all that the people were really nice, and the food was fabulous! It has since been sold to a different company, so I do have no idea how it is right now! It is now 2023. , I was not allowed to change the date, so this might be a moot point.. I was not there in 2022, so I don’t know how to express on that little rectangle that I was there in 2018/2019.

Modern hotel but blending in with the dramatic landscape on a ridge overlooking Lake Mývatn. Gorgeous views from the dining room. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with beautiful views on the lake side. Staff were friendly and helpful and dinner was top quality in the restaurant. My only quibble was the breakfast - coffee was lukewarm at best, bread choice was limited, same o same o sliced cheese and meats. Hot food choices were basic at best - messy and tasteless scrambled eggs.

The location is right next to the cathedral and a two-minute walk from the internet celebrity RUB23. The room is fully equipped with pots and pans, so you can cook by yourself, and the sanitary conditions are also excellent. The only thing to note is that parking is a little tight.

After a long and tiresome drive along the coast on a gravel road for about 60 min, we reached this gem of a small hotel. At first sight from the outside, this did not look like a proper hotel. However, entering all doubt disappeared. A lovely place with a host most welcoming and helpful. He was owner, receptionist and cook, all in one person. The rooms simple and very clean. «Less is more». We enjoyed a beautiful meal made from local products from the sea and the hills. We can highly recommend this lovely hotel. A precious memory from our holiday i Iceland. Thank you. Kristin and Thor
