3-Star Hotels in Taiwan, China

It is a good location. Very easy to go everywhere in Taiwan because very near to Taipei main station. The room is standard but late check in (16:00) and early checkout 11:00. The cleaning schedule of the room is 3 days each time. For me it is acceptable. I love laundry service with washing and drying machine but you have to prepare 10 NTD coin 30 for wash and 20 min for 10 dollar normally spend 40 for drying . My room has no window but no problem because we travel more than stay.

The location of the hotel is fantastic. Close walk to Taipei Main Station and Taoyuan Airport MRT station for transportation (just need to figure out the right exit to enter or exit the station), walking distance to Ximenting for shopping, there are lots of eateries nearby, Chengzhong Market (城中市场 translate to Market in the city), a local market, is walking distance with lots of local food stalls. The staff are friendly and helpful. The lobby area is quite spacious with some longish siting area. There is no common area to work though. We booked 2 types of room for our group. Share Studio and Classic Twin. The Share Studio comes with 4 single beds, no window, but spacious. However, the toilet ergonomics not so good as there is no space to place toiletries in the shower cubicle except on the floor. 1 bit towel and a small towel are provided for, together with 2 paper cups for each bed. Each bed has a luggage storage area under the bed, a lockable drawer, and a small compartment for storing things. Each bed comes with a small retractable desk with its own light at the foot of the bed. The Classic Twin has better ergonomics in the toilet, and has windows to get ventilation (if needed). This room is considered more premium than the Share Studio, it comes with tea and coffee, and ceramic cups. In each room a water jug is provided for, and at least 2 water stations are available on each floor. Will I stay here again? Definitely.

Spent 5 days in this hotel, overall is ok except the front counter staff isn't really friendly and helpful. Don't feel welcome every time when walk into the hotel lobby, anyway the room was comfortable so it compromised the downside.

Pros: The room is brand new and beautifully designed. There is a chaise lounge, a desk and chair, a small chair, and a wooden floor area. A family of four can sit and rest before taking a bath. There is also a balcony, capsule coffee, and the bathroom is separated into wet and dry areas. The overall design is great, the space is large, the floor is clean, the TV channels are very popular with the kids, and the overall hardware is very popular Although the area is a little remote, it is about 15 minutes' drive from the city center, and there is a convenience store within walking distance, which is quite convenient. The parking lot is very good and parking is convenient Disadvantages: The restaurant is beautiful, but the number of seats is insufficient. Even with the split dining, it still feels crowded. The food is not replenished quickly enough. The waiters have a gloomy look on their faces and are not enthusiastic about serving. There are hairs in the cold dishes. There is a game area and free happy hour on the second floor. The online introduction said there were many cocktails, drinks, cookies... In fact, there were only two cans of candy, a small pot of juice, and a small pot of beer. It was marked as not unlimited drinking, which means that it was gone after drinking. However, there are 170 rooms, so this happy hour is quite insincere. There are welcome tea bags and biscuits in the lobby, just two plates, and they are gone after taking them. The service attitude of the counter staff is better than that of the restaurant, but they are not enthusiastic and have no smiles. It can be improved. In addition, the parking entrance and exit are two-way, and the poles on both sides are too long, which is easy to scratch the car body. It is recommended to make it shorter.

Hotel and building was a little dated. Our room was overly basic in a state or repair. There was a terrible mould smell in the room which we did not like. The bathroom was nice and clean though. The location was pretty good too. Not too far from the station, close to the night market, and close to subways and bus routes. Definitely wouldn’t stay again and would look at paying a little more for a nicer hotel.

I didn't expect Jiashan Forest to sell a house in addition to a house in the city. Of course, the price is a bit higher. The 3-hour soup house has no scenery, which is a bit more expensive.

So clean, Very Very Non smoking room. What i loved in my stay is that i dont smell tracw of smoke. But no slippers, The aircon is function well. Our stay is peaceful and quiet. 7/11,bus and train station is nearby. We will come back here!

1. 🕰️ Was asked to be seated while the reception prepared my check in (note that check in is at 5pm, I arrived around 315pm so I asked if they could let me check in slightly earlier). After about 45 mins, I went to check on the status and the reception has clearly forgotten about my check in. 2. 🪳Probably the most turned off thing of the stay. Opened the door and was greeted by a cockroach and a rubbish tissue (see photo). Live cockroach… 3. 🧹 No daily housekeeping. No bottled water provided. No hand soap so just got to make do with shower gel. The good part about this hotel is probably the location and the size of the room is pretty decent.

5pm check in and 11am check out is too short. 6 full hours shorter stay. Basically u check in to sleep and then check out. Can’t enjoy the facilities much. This is suppose to be relaxing vacation spot. Don’t understand why they need so long to clean up the rooms. Front counter very strict with 11am check out. It’s muddy water and not mud. As the location is middle of nowhere and the short stay hour, you are force to eat in the resort. The front counter will push you their set menu for 2 at TWD1380. Swimming costume are a must to go to their public pool. So again you are forced to buy their ugly swimming costume at exorbitant price of TWD1080.

Their rooms for 3rd floor is a bit funny tho because it's too colorful and it makes me dizzy. Cleanliness- super! Noise-? Nothing you can sleep peacfully. Location? Perfect! Convenience? They have laundry room and one 7/11 downstairs. Also their breakfast buffet is good. We will definitely stay here againz. I post a photo of the room vibe very clean light and spacious.

We were upgraded to Family Suite and the room is too big for a couple. Nonetheless, we are thankful for it since we can move around. Room is clean and has strong water - you can have a nice hot shower after a long day outside. Location is very accessible to all must visit places in Taipei because it’s near Ximen Station. Best is you are just in Ximending - home of the best night market in Taipei. Room rate is affordable compared to other similar hotels nearby. Though they have to monitor the cleanliness of the elevator since it is for common use with other building tenants. The hotel rooms are located in the 9th and 10th Floors. Reception area is at the 9th floor.

An average 3 star hotel with decent service and a decent location. Room was weirdly arranged (I suppose to accommodate 4 persons). Door has a 1 inch clearance below it, which means you hear everything happening on the floor. They provide ear plugs presumably because some guests must have complained about the noise. Good place if you're looking for a cheap place to sleep at night in this area. We have been to much worse 3 star hotels so we appreciated it for what it is. (Also, saw this sign outside the hotel... I think it means they charge hourly rates but it might be the neighboring place... 😅)

The hotel is conveniently located and the staff very helpful and friendly. However hôtel amenities are minimal ( only two electricity sockets in the room and you have to unplug the lamp in order to charge your phone) the bed is comfortable and clean but the washroom old and out dated ( there is a huge shower outside the tub next to the washbasin…with no shower curtains or doors: very strange design indeed) but the main culprit causing my complaints was the very weak and whimsical wi fi which only connects now and then, when it’s in a good mood!

The location is really good. If you went to taiwan to go shopping and visit different tourist spots, then this is the hotel because the mrt station is right in front of the hotel building. The service is really good and they change everything everyday. The only thing we didn't like is the smell in the restroom. It's not strong but you can smell something in the drainage. The TV also doesn't have netflix so it's kind of disappointing. But overall we really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely go back and stay in this hotel. Really accessible, really accommodating service by the staff. Thumbs up!!

Palmer hotel's location is very central, near taroko mall, Taichung park, Taichung train station and miyahahara ice cream shop. Palmer hotel offers buffet breakfast and also has a self laundry - coin operated same floor with the buffet. Room is big, 2 elevators working and quick checkin and check-out process. Thank you for the good service.

The hotel is located near city centre and close to train, bus station.  From the hotel room you can see the train station.  Behind the hotel is a shopping mall  and plenty of food hall and restaurants.  But no laundry at the hotel and there is a street laundry about 400 m away.  The bathroom orientation is a bit awkward.

Overall the location is very good, very close to the train station, but there is a lot of room for improvement: 1. The service awareness of the front desk staff needs to be improved. When checking in, the efficiency is not good. There are people in the assigned room. After the room card is opened, there are engineering staff working next to the room, and the room is not ready at all. good. You need to go back to the lobby to change rooms, which is troublesome and troublesome. This is the lowest mistake in the hotel industry. 2. All the tea bags and snacks in the so-called pantry on the floor have been emptied for a long time and no one has replenished them (please see the attached picture). This is another low-level mistake and shows poor management by the management. 3. The design of the bathroom in the room is even more incomprehensible. LIKED: 1. Budget friendly 2. Laundry room availability DISLIKED: 1. Size of the room 2. Smell of the room (smelled damp, probably from the carpeted floor) 3. No bidet in the bathroom 4. Shampoo and shower gel were in the form of small sachets, barely enough for 1 person to use 5. Electrical sockets were behind the beds, you'd need to move the beds to use them. Otherwise there's only 1 socket next to the table and another one in the bathroom next to the toilet 6. Breakfast selection was very limited and in a basement that is relatively dark. There's no hot water dispenser there so if you want to drink tea, you either have to prepare hot water in your room or from the dispenser on the first floor.

The hotel is at a location quite close to calligraphy greenway and public transport is relatively convenient too. Hotel breakfast was ok though it was a little repetitive. One point to note is that the closest junction is strictly an overhead bridge so if you're arriving by public transport and also carrying luggage, you'll have to walk a littler further down the road to cross.

The environment and service are great. The only thing is that there is no heating. When there is a cold wave, the window next to the bed keeps letting in cold wind, which is a bit troublesome. Hope the stay can be improved in the future.

A very good location. The service staff are enthusiastic and have good attitudes. The rooms are new and tidy. There is also a variety of Chinese and Western breakfasts in the morning. It is full of energy. I have stayed here many times!

I had a great holiday at this five star accommodation! The environment is elegant and the service staff are warm and friendly. The soundproofing effect of the room is very good, allowing me to fully relax and enjoy the privacy of my space. There are a dazzling array of food stalls nearby, offering all kinds of delicacies. I make new discoveries every day! Whether it’s the snacks from the night market or the specialties on the streets, I’m always in awe. If you want a comfortable and convenient accommodation experience, this is definitely a choice not to be missed!

The room is large, there are many parking spaces in the underground parking lot, the breakfast is diverse, the glass in the bathroom is very transparent and clean, the flushing sound of the toilet in the bathroom is too loud, you can check out at 12 o'clock!

Book the hotel for a last-minute travel. Stayed in this hotel for 8 days. I think for the price the hotel is clean. Here are some breakdowns: Room: The room and the hotel are a little dated, but its acceptable. I think it will work for backpakers. The vent in my room came off a little. The maintenance team should pay attention to things like this. The room I booked does not have a window. Luckily, I'm not in the room most of the time. Recommendation to people if you are interested in this hotel, make sure to book the room with a window. Also, the room I stayed in is small. You need to close up you luggage otherwise you won't have space to walk. Cleanses: The cleanese is within acceptable range for a hotel like this. However, I think the carpet in the room is old and dirty. Management should really consider replacing the carpets. A newer carper can bring the cleanness of the room up one level. The room also has some minor mildew smell when you enter the room. In fact, some parts of the hotel also have minor mildew smells. Management should really figure out how to remove the mildew smell. The mildew smell goes a way if you increase the AC, but then the room becomes too cold. The mildew smell is also reported by some of the reviews. Comfortable: The mattress and pillow are ok. Each bed comes with 2 pillows instead of 4. I have decent sleep on it. Amenities: The hotel comes with two bottles of water everyday. House keeping will provide it daily if you have house keeping. Hotel provides reusable sleepers for bathroom and for use in the room. These are not disposable sleepers. They are reusable. They look very old school and I'm not sure how clean they are. So, I dont use them. I understand its a budget hotel, but it would be really great if they provided disposable sleepers. Also, there is no hand soap in the bathroom. You would think that after the pandemic, washing hand should become an important part of life but hand soap is not provided. I went to one of the local shops here to buy myself a bottle of hand soap. The shower drain is also a little clogged. There is a small poddle of water while showering. I read similar issues in other reviews. Breakfast: The breakfast is ok for the price of the room. Some of the reviews said that the breakfast was better before. Honestly, with inflation, all cost have gone up. I think the selection of breakfast is good for the price of hotel. I think overall the hotel is ok. If you are traveling alone and are under a budget, I think this hotel can be one of the choices.

Nice staff, good service Spacious room, excellent amenities e.g. - instant coffee, tea bag, bottles of water in room (can be refilled) - 24hrs of coffee (americano, latte and mocha etc) and ice cream available in common area - tiny gym room - outdoor garden with washing machine and drying machine at the corner (TWD30 for each, ~1hr for washing and ~0.5hr for drying)

We lived in the hotel for two days. When settled, they could not understand why we had to pay the second time. It turns out that when booking on Bucking, our money was blocked, but in the payment receipt it was not reflected. After repaying, we were settled in the room. The hotel is clean, comfortable, close to the night and stuff markets - 5 minutes walk. The hotel provides a light dinner in the evening - buffets, cakes, ice cream, tea, coffee, drinks. There are many shops, cafes, metro station and bus stops nearby. We are happy with this hotel, if there is an opportunity, we will come again.

Really glad i picked this hotel to stay in Kaohsiung! It is near Kaohsiung main station (a big part of the station is under renovation as of August 2024 so the walk from the station is longer as we have to walk a larger loop compared to just walking straight out to the hotel - the hotel faces the main station directly btw). Nonetheless the hotel room is clean and spacious. The bed is larger than what I thought (feels more like a king bed for a double bed!) so that’s a huge plus. The hotel staff were really friendly and kind (living up to the hotel’s name), and we have access to the lounge area which includes free drinks and ice cream + some small snacks! I think these little things really add up to make the stay very pleasant! I would want to come back here next time I’m back in Kaohsiung!
