A Ace Hotel

Taichung Railway Station/Miyahara Dessert Store
If check-in process becomes fully automated, the personal touch for service will deem to be as cold as a robot, and may spoilt the mood for traveller whenever we wish to ask questions about travel activities. Next, after office hours, the shutter roller of the front counter is closed, hence there will be no access to water dispenser. Maybe hotel should consider to install a water dispenser for stayers to refill water, etc

Taipei Arena
There is smoking smell when we first enter the Hotel room, looks neat but need the air circulation to reduce the unpleasant smell. I am happy with the location and love the bath tub provided. The aircond is not that cool during the hot day, and it is not adjustable. Overall is a good and economic convenience choice for free and easy trip couple.
Apause Inn

Taipei Railway Station Area
Hotel check in was done in level 5 and rooms were located in level 8. Like all Taiwan local hotels, they will only allow check in after 3pm with no exception. Check out is 11am. We were told check out from 12pm will have a penalty of 300+ ntd. The room was tiny but sufficient to walk. Pleasantly surprised that there was a window with daylight too. The toilet was small and there was no proper partition between the shower area and the toilet bowl. Location wise it's excellent, 5-10 mins walk to Taipei main station.

Shilin Night Market
We spent a comfortable 5 nights in this hotel. Rooms are a nice size, warmly furnished and comfortable double bed! Bathroom is spacious with separate bathtub and shower. No meal options but many food places or convenience stores very near. A nice thing was the water dispenser and a coffee machine for guests downstairs.
MEANDER Taipei

Ximending Commercial Area
The second time I walked to Taipei alone, this time I chose the Taipei Walk Youth Hostel near the Ximen MRT Station. Get off the MRT and walk straight along Chengdu Road. It is a very good place for foreigners. There is a breakfast shop next to it, Huowo Store and my favorite FAMILY MART. It is not a problem to eat at all. Traveling is just to go straight to Chengdu Road and return to the MRT station. The room was very clean and tidy. I lived in a six-person room, but there was no sense of cramping. (But you need to climb a little stairs to stay, the highest room is on the sixth floor, but the distance between each floor of the stairs is still short, young people, more sports!) I met my roommates at once. Everyone was super NICE and super talkative, family, life, politics, people's livelihood, and life. Nothing to miss. You can communicate with all the tenants at COMMON ROOM on the first floor. I was invited by a foreigner on the first night to listen to him. Life was simple and satisfying. The waiter was also super friendly. Everyone was very satisfied. In general, there may be room for better hardware on the strolling place, but I believe that it is not a five-star hotel that can be compared with it. (Even if I arrange to live on the sixth floor, I am happy to accept it!)
CityInn Hotel Taipei Station Branch II

Taipei Railway Station Area
It is the first time we are staying at CityInn Hotel Taipei Station Branch II and it is conveniently located nearby the Taipei Main Station and Bus Station. On the first day when check in, we receive warm and genuine greetings from the service staff stationed at the reception counter. My friends and I were impressed by the excellent service provided by the staff (led by Lilian and her team mates Nancy and Aria) who provided as a insightful introduction to the premises and amenities available in the hotel. They helped to look after our luggage before the check in timing at 3pm and recommended us to some of the popular food spots around the vicinity. Afterwhich, we collected the room cards from them timely at check in counter without any delay. The room was sparkling clean and room amenities were all avaliable for us. There were also a self service pantry area where you can choose your drinks (coffee or tea and water dispenser) and light snacks such as biscuits and bowl noodles (after 10pm) were provided free of charge. Kitchen utensils as well as Freezer, Microwave and Oven were also made available for in house guest to use 24/7. We were also delighted to know that there is a on-site laundry room where we can wash our laundry which is especially user friendly and helpful as we were on a long trip with soiled clothings. They even provided both the washing machines and dryers as well as the detergent powder. It was so convenient and homely for our 3 days 2 nights at the hotel. Special shout out to Debby (night shift staff) who advised us on the aircon issue we had on first night on how to adjust the right temperature and also Aria assisting us with getting the engineering team to fix the air con on the next morning. Debby thank you for also doing the night shift and maintaining the cleanliness of the pantry in the morning. Lastly, we will like to thank the service team for their excellent service and great hospitality. We are deeply touched by the genuine service and surprise little gift for our friend's birthday. (Thank you Lilian and Kenny and team) Keep up the great work and stay passionate in what you do.
Traveller Inn Tiehua Cultural and Creative Hotel II

Taitung Downtown/Tiehua Village
I had a pleasant stay at Traveller Inn Tiehua Cultural and Creative Hotel 4 years ago, so thought I'd try Traveller Inn Tiehua Cultural and Creative Hotel II this time, as they are located near to each other, very close to the bus station and Tiehua Village. This is a great location to explore the city. However, other than the superb location and the bigger room, there isn't much else to love about this hotel. There was literally no service at this branch. Staff were not welcoming and unlike other hotels in Taiwan, they do not greet guests when you are at the lobby. I also never saw any of them smile at guests. In fact, on my first day of check-in, I was blatantly told to check in at Traveller Inn Tiehua Cultural and Creative Hotel instead, because ”the hotel is closed for the day”. When I asked how come I was not informed earlier, the staff answered ”because you don't have a Taiwan mobile number”. This is absurd to me, isn't there the Trip.com messaging service where you can contact guests? Very disappointed with the way they handle such cases, no apology at all, and just gives a very transactional feeling. The only time I encountered a staff who greeted me was at the breakfast restaurant. Room amenities and facilities look like they need proper maintenance, and the windows were so dirty. The bed was also not very comfortable to sleep on. Lastly, I know Taiwan hotel breakfasts are usually not so nice compared to eating out in the breakfast shops, but the quality of the breakfast was really bad. Seasonal fresh fruit selection was only watermelon on 1 morning, and guava + watermelon on another. In conclusion, very disappointed with my stay here this time. Will definitely think twice about returning to Traveller Inn Tiehua Cultural and Creative Hotel II the next time I visit Taitung again.
Somer Chew Hotel

Chihkan Tower
Somer Hotel is a gem of a place to stay in Tainan. I stayed in two different rooms during my stay, one being the tatami room and one Western hotel style. Both were spacious, clean, and really comfortable. My favorite part was the snack and drink tray provided and refilled each night so that guests can try delicious ********* food. The breakfast provided was varied and delicious. You do have to reserve the time you want to eat, but that prevents long lines and crowding during the meal. The lounge where breakfast is served is also a nice place to hang out or do work outside of the hotel room. Other amenities like wifi and the bathroom products provided were great. Service was really good and the staff was extremely welcoming and helped us to call a taxi when we needed one. The hotel is in a great location and is easily walkable to historical landmark Chikan Tower and numerous restaurants and markets. I would definitely recommend Somer Hotel as a home base for exploring or even somewhere to take naps and relax while experiencing all the amazing food that Tainan has to offer.
King's Garden Villa

5pm check in and 11am check out is too short. 6 full hours shorter stay. Basically u check in to sleep and then check out. Can’t enjoy the facilities much. This is suppose to be relaxing vacation spot. Don’t understand why they need so long to clean up the rooms. Front counter very strict with 11am check out. It’s muddy water and not mud. As the location is middle of nowhere and the short stay hour, you are force to eat in the resort. The front counter will push you their set menu for 2 at TWD1380. Swimming costume are a must to go to their public pool. So again you are forced to buy their ugly swimming costume at exorbitant price of TWD1080.
Hotel Relax I

Taipei Railway Station Area
Overall good experience. The location is excellent as it’s only several minutes walk from Taipei Station. The staff is very helpful, our first room had drain noise, and he helped us to swap to the 2nd room, however, that room had smoky smell, and he managed to move us to the 3rd room. Rooms are clean, however, the mini fridge is very noisy, and the shower head is not adjustable and make the shower a bit difficult. This building has restaurant, offices and 2 different hotels, so the logistics of using the lifts is a bit inconvenient. Overall good value.
