Ji Hotel (Shanghai People's Square)

People's Square Area
During my trip, the only aspect I was slightly dissatisfied with was this hotel. The housekeeping staff were more friendly than the front desk staff. When I asked the front desk a question and needed them to repeat again because I didn’t understand, they seemed impatient. The bathroom in this hotel gets very slippery when wet, and when I couldn’t find an anti-slip mat in the room, I asked the front desk and was told that the hotel doesn’t provide them. This is not ideal for travelers with elderly guests or children. Since I was traveling with an elderly family member, we ended up purchasing our own anti-slip mat for safety. On the positive side, the location is excellent, close to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, which is only about a 10-minute walk away. However, the hotel is situated right on a corner by a busy road, so it’s important to be cautious of traffic when getting in and out of the car.

Shanghai Disney Resort
Summary: I will rebook this place if I ever come back to shanghai disneyland. Value for money Cleanliness Overall acceptable One of the wall had dust Obscure corners and areas had dust The toilet floortrap was not cleaned daily but it is fine Floor under the bed is clean Services Apparently only a 1 way either to Disneyland or from disneyland is available per night of stay. We stayed for 3 nights so we get 3 trips. But we went to Disneyland for 2 days. So we needed 4 trips. The owner was kind enough to give us a free trip back. If not it will be charged at 25 CNY per trip. Amenities We booked the romantic long room. There are 3 types of this room with different names. The room floor area is large but almost 50% is outdoor space. We could not switch off the lights for the first night as we could not find the switches. It was actually hidden behind one of the bed frames. The visible switches were not in use. The smart function of the lighting's covered 50% of the lights and 50% of lights were manual There is NO HEATING even in winter. It is NORMAL for shanghai. But the toilets were too much. There was no heated lights no heater in the toilet area. No space to hang clothes. The toilet is not opaque/ no curtains. Strictly meant for couples. No privacy. The toilet bowl was heated and that was nice. It has a bidet function. No hand soap at the basin but we brought our own soap so we simply switch out the soap to use as hand soap. We could not figure out the setting but there might be heating? For the overall room. There was a thermostat that was set at 30 degree Celsius but overall still cold Some inbuilt furniture looks old and worn out but you won't use it so it is fine. Cupboard Hanging area was limited but it has a canopy of sorts so we hanged it around there. So no issues with this Bed 2 pillows per person was provided. Comfortable Under the bed was clean. Floor space Limited as 50% was outdoor Kudos to cleaning under the bed I put 50% of my luggage on walking area and 50% under the bed My fiancé placed his on the side of the bed Furniture 1 chair 1 table inside the room 2 chairs and 1 table outside the room on the verandah Too cold to use but the owner did decorate the verandah with nice walkways and sweet walls There is a nice and long countertop below the TV which was great for putting stuff The room was airy Breakfast was hot and filling. No variety. Same for all 3 days that we were there. 7 to 9am only.
GEM Hotel (Shanghai Bund Nanjing East Road Pedestrian Street shop)

People's Square Area
Convenient location. Between nanjing east mrt and people's square mrt. Walking distance to the Bund and yu garden. Exit 1,3 and 4 of nanjing east mrt would be nearer while exit 2 is slightly further. Friendly staff who arranged for early check in as my flight landed in the early morning. Toiletries are provided, good water pressure and hot water from shower is appreciated in winter. Room shows wear and tear with stains but othetwise still quite clean. Note tt the bathroom has no door, only a shower curtain as separating panel.
Weiting Qingju Hotel (Songjiang University Town)

Sheshan, Songjiang University Town
We loved our 4-night stay (with a 6-hour extension) in this hotel. On top of a really good service, we got free breakfast, too. The breakfast is Asian style. Being Filipinos, we enjoyed it. We had the Chinese version of ”buchi,” ”lumpia,” ”chao fan,” ”siopao,” and more. We also had orange juice, soy milk, milk, coffee, and water for drinks. If you are looking for a Western style breakfast, there is KFC and Starbucks right at the Metro Station area (or subway), where you can also ride Line 9. We ate burgers bought at KFC, my mother found the burger with tomatoes delicious. They have free bottled water, provided with a kettle and tea. There is also a robot that serves as the hotel delivery boy. :-) I wish we could have a robot like that at home. :-D The people at the hotel are really great. We wish to say hello to Ms. Zhao Ming Di, who assisted us and was very helpful and resourceful. :-) They've got hot shower, with shampoo and soap provided. Towels are included, too. You can watch Hollywood movies on their TV, too. We played ”The Mummy,” ”Gladiator,” etc. We also watched a Chinese movie ”Shaolin Popey” with English subtitles. :-) If you wish to extend your stay at this hotel, you can pay 25RMB/hour for your room. If you are a nature lover, this hotel is near Sheshan Hill (Line 9 Sheshan Metro Station). In fact, the Sheshan area itself has its own tourist spots (not just the Catholic church and the space observatory. There are many others.). They are not as famous as The Bund area, of course, but you will like the Sheshan area if you have the chance and the effort to explore it. I sincerely wish we were able to explore the Sheshan area more, but we only spent a few hours and we spent all of it on the top of the Sheshan hill. If you want to buy sweets and goods to take home, this hotel is near Qibao Ancient Town (Line 9 Qibao Metro Station). There are many shops there and their prices are much lower than those in The Bund. My mother bought many things at Qibao, like candies, toys, a comb, etc. I bought a pocketwatch. They also sell Chinese traditional clothes there. There is also a high-end shopping mall right next to the Qibao Metro Station, the name is Vanke Mall, in case you wish to buy Western-brand goods and have Western-style meals. The hotel itself is also near a park, but we didn't get a chance to walk in that park. I checked it on a map, it looked huge. Maybe, next time we will. :-)

Staff very polite and professional. Rooms are very clean and kids friendly as well. Location is nice, next to a shopping mall where you can access MRT. Would definitely recommend if you visit Shanghai.
Ibis Hotel (Shanghai New International Expo Center Lianyang Branch)
4.7/52170 Reviews
Pudong New International Expo Center/World Expo Area
Ibis hotel has great location that I can access the metro line 9 Fangdian Station with less than 10 mins walk. Fangdian Rd Station also just several stops away from the Longyang Rd Maglev train which only takes 8 mins to the Pudong International Airport. The reception staff were friendly and professional. The check-in and check-out went very smoothly every time during my stays. The room cleanness was also great. I had no any problem with it. The water-pressure of the shower was also very good which was better than most of other hotels I stayed with before in Shanghai, where low water-pressure sometimes was really an pain. Another highlight of the hotel is it's breakfast which has variety of choices, including Chinese and Western. Fresh veggies and fruits were provided everyday. Plus, with 4 washing machines and four drying machines, I did get my dirty clothes washed and dried in two hours without any waiting time. However it had some weakness, the noise cancellation of the walls and doors seemed not very good. If you need a good rest, preparing your own noise-cancelling earplugs might be a good idea! Overall, it still was a very pleasant experience with my stays here at Ibis.
Dayin International Youth Hostel(East Nanjing Road & The Bund)

People's Square Area
Firstly, I must give a big thumbs up for the hostel staff; the most impressive is Mr. Jing Wan Xu. When I was checking in, he provided a free upgrade for me. The second morning, when I wanted to grab a coffee, I also received a complementary one. I believe there is not a big season, and I am quite lucky to have encountered this benefit, hahaha. For the important concern of price, it is very reasonable as well. The subway station is just a 5 to 10-minute walk away, and convenience stores, souvenir shops, and scenic spots (such as The Bund, Jing'an Temple, and the Shanghai Natural History Museum) are all around the hostel, everything is very close by. Last but not least, I also want to compliment the hostel staff; they are really passionate about their work. When I returned to the hostel, I saw a mother traveling with her baby, who needed to be taken care of and was using a trolley. The staff left the front desk to assist them to their rooms. They are ready and flexible in doing a great job. This was my first time staying in a hostel, and it has changed my stereotype a lot. And thank you so much your guys treat me so well. See you soon and merry Christmas.🎄🎄🥳🥳
