Designhotel Beila
4.5/513 Reviews
Holiday Inn Express Hasselt

You generally know exactly what to expect when you book a Holiday Inn Express. They are reliable. This one was a surprise though. While it had all the features I expect from the chain - clean, comfortable rooms with breakfast included, this hotel was actually a cut above the average Holiday Inn Express. The service was super friendly and efficient. The lobby was a bit nicer than other hotels, there are rooms with King sized beds available ( my only problem with most HIEX hotels is the tiny beds) and the breakfast had a better and higher quality selection. The location is great.- a few minutes walk from the central station and from the centre of the city, with great restaurants right around the corner. We will definitely stay again.

Hotel Zuid

We stayed here for 3 nights during Christmas, as we were visiting family nearby. The hotel and room do look lovely, as per the advertised pictures. There is ample parking and the breakfast is really good. However we felt let down after our stay. Our room (number 28) was really cold, all the time. There was no central heating, only an aircon unit that we occassionally got to blow out heat, but it never warmed the room completely. The bathroom was freezing cold and never dried fully. There is a wind up heating unit in the bathroom that needs to be wound up but it doesn’t dry anything. The bed didn’t have a proper matress, only a thin foam layer on top of a spring box set. Upon arrival (on 24/12), we didn’t receive the warmest welcome. We arrived in what seemed a closed hotel and had to ring the reception bell twice and wait a long time, before someone appeared and rushed us through check-in. It being Christmas eve, you’d expect something extra, a lovely message or an invitation to join the bar for festivities. But in the first sentence we were told abruptly the restaurant would be closed for the next couple of days due to Christmas. So it wasn’t the welcome we expected. All other moments we passed the reception/bar area, it was unmanned. During our stay, it honestly felt more like serviced rooms than a hotel. Which is fine if that’s what you’re looking for, but we booked a hotel during Christmas to get the hotel experience. Christmas or any other holiday should not be an excuse.
Hotel Ecu

Our stay at Hotel Ecu in July was great. The communication by email prior to arrival was timely and friendly and they answered all of my questions. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely Emma and she made sure everything we needed was sorted. The car parking was brilliant and secure using the hotels dedicated locked area. Emma had noted that our original booking request was for twin rooms but none were available. One had since become available and she had reserved this for us- thank you so much. Each day the staff were all friendly and chatty and helped us with any questions. They provide a kettle for our room when we asked for one. One of our rooms had a problem with the air conditioning and it was resolved within a few hours. The hotel is clean and modern inside (don't let the lack of kerb appeal put you off) and the beds were some of the comfiest we have ever stayed in. The location is perfect- opposite the bus and train station, on the main road and a few minutes walk from a lovely square with lots of great bars and restaurants and a mini market. The shopping centres (all within 5 mins walk) are brilliant and have everything you need and more great places to eat. On a Thursday night the town comes alive with outdoor DJ's and street food vendors- its a great atmosphere. We were attending a Karting event at Karting Genk; only 10 minutes up the road, so a perfect place to stay for visiting the track. We would definitely return. Thank you.
Hotel Het Buskruid

Hotel Corbie Lommel
3.9/517 Reviews
There seem to be few hotels in this area of Belgium optimised for business travel, but this one fitted our requirements very well for a five-night stay. It has a central location in Lommel (this is not the hotel on the ring road), with free overnight parking available on the square directly outside. There may be a couple of daytime restrictions during the week due to the local market, but the hotel staff will advise and there is another free park just a few minutes' walk away. On arrival, we received a very warm welcome, and a brief on the hotel's procedures. This is important as the reception is not staffed 24/7, though there is a phone on the desk to call should the requirement arise. The hotel is also what I would describe as functional. There is no bar, no gym, and they don't do dinner, though that was not an issue for us. Check in was super efficient, and I was soon in the lift to my fifth-floor room, best again described as functional, though quiet, clean and comfortable. The room was fitted with a TV, had a selection of tea / coffee facilities, and lots of storage space, plus a safe. It was also appointed with a microwave and sink, like a very mini kitchenette within one of the wardrobes. Breakfast was from 06:45 during the week, which again suited our business day requirements. It's not the biggest selection in the world, it's not designed to be or practical for it's size, but there was enough cereal, muesli, nuts, fruit, yoghurts, pastries and a few hot options to suit. Plus one of those large fresh orange machines where you feed to oranges into the top and it does the business for you. So no dinner or bar? This was not an issue since literally within two minutes' walk guests can find a number of bars, restaurants and coffee places, good ones too. Indeed, Lommel kept pleasantly surprising us. Knowing that this is a functional yet comfortable hotel in a convenient location, we had a really good stay and would readily recommend to book again.
Belrom Hotel

A birthday party with family could turn into a warm summer evening and since we make ”safe driving” a point looking for an overnight stay nearby. Hotel Belrom became our choice. Our experience ? Just awesome ! ! A friendly welcome, a spacious room with the necessary comfort, contemporary, neat and clean. The air conditioning was a surplus and we did not experience noise from the busy road. Used towels and washcloths are replaced after one night. The breakfast ? an abnormally extensive choice: bread, spreads, yoghurt, fruit (8 different types), fruit juices, egg preparations (included), . . . Advantages ? unforced friendliness, immaculate, extensive breakfast, free parking. Don't understand why this hotel only gets three stars. Still close by? This will be our first choice!

Location was great; beautiful at the edge of Lommel. Breakfast top; enough choice. Although it was strange that was said up to 10.00 hour and 10.30 hour was everywhere. Parking garage is handy and great that you could still stand after checkout. Rooms deserve attention; not entirely flawless and maintenance can be better. Then it is just less smooth and the ratio quality/price is also better.
Boutique Hotel Caelus VII

Very nice accommodation in the historic center of Tongeren. I'm on a bikepacking trip and the owners/staff were very accommodating helping me with a safe place to store my bike and a charger for my GPS and phone after mine had broken. I had a nice room with a comfortable bed and beautiful vintage furniture. All in all a good place to spend the night after 153km on my bike.
