Nightcap at Rex Hotel

Stayed one night when husband and I had a day surgery procedure. Chose it as it was the closest accommodation to the Day Hospital. Checked in after ops a bit early and they were able to have room cleaned ready for us. Room very small, Queen bed took up most of it. Ensuite ok except toilet dripped all night. Bed good and clean. Hot water took ages to heat up. Also not sure what was refurbished? Went downstairs to Bistro for dinner. Hubbys meal good, mine average. Got a small discount for staying on meal and accommodation. Bit loud with traffic, but it is on a busy road (and we are from country). Would prefer a bigger room with a bit of a view in future.

The room and staff were great. However, there were sounds coming from the ceiling fan in the bathroom, sounds which very much seemed like there were rats up there.
Jacksons Motor Inn

This motel is perfect for a short stay when visiting Adelaide via car. Easy to get to being close to the main highways and roads in and out of Adelaide. Rooms had everything you needed for a short stay (except a microwave). Reception charge a $50 deposit for your stay so keep that in mind when checking in, you get it back on checkout but was a little shocked with how high this was considering we’ve been travelling around Australia for the past three months and never had a deposit this high. The rooms weren’t the cleanest and we opted to use our own doona as the one in our room had stains and smelt off, same again with the pillows with my partners one smelling of urine. Wasn’t a bad nights stay for the price, hopefully they fix a few things and I would stay again.
ibis Styles Adelaide Manor
4.1/585 Reviews
Perfect location for our drive Perth to Melbourne, easy access from and to the highway. Spacious, clean room with table, couch, TV, aircon and very comfortable bed. Ensuite a little outdated but the room had been freshened up. We had trouble connecting to the wifi. The restaurant was closed on our visit but we ordered room service and enjoyed our meal. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Be aware that while there is a 'late check-in' window, a sign on the door said that reception hours had changed to 8am - 8pm (when we booked the site said it was open all night... it might be wise to check ahead if you're likely to be later) Good, clean accommodation. We had a good stay.
Stone Hut Cottage

Searching for a unique bakery we found the Old Bakery Stone Hut on line. So on our way back from Quorn on our way to Adelaide we stopped to try one of their famous wild boar pies. Sadly they didn't have any of that particular pie that day but they did have a number of others to choose from. I then decided that it was about time that I tried Kangaroo so I went for it and had a Kangaroo and red wine pie. My wife had a******** and stout pie which I also sampled. We each had a coffee since we were going to be on the road for still a few hours. Suffice to say everything was excellent and we will be returning the next time we are in the area.
Berri Hotel
4.1/591 Reviews
We booked a Riverview Balcony Villa at the Berri Hotel via the Riverland revival voucher scheme from SA Tourism. We found our stay overpriced and were not impressed, considering what we paid. First the good bits. Location - we were located right opposite the River Murray The view was lovely. As was the weather The villas are fairly new and of good size, with seperate living & bedroom with a good sized bathroom with walk-in shower. 2 tvs handy wireless phone chargers next to the bed. Replenished daily “mini bar” (a few cans, water and chips nothing much! Didn’t get the mini wine replaced for some reason!) The food served at the dining room of the hotel was all nice and even though very busy was served quickly. (Book for dinner) The restaurant staff are a mixture of nice polite and helpful to rude and insolent. Tip - despite there being a scan order and pay facility on the tables (and in the rooms) it doesn’t send the orders. It will take your money! The staff know this but for some unknown reason they have not put any signs saying do not use. Apparently it’s your fault when you use them! And a big inconvenience to the staff when you do! Breakfast is included in the stay but only certain items from the menu. You can upgrade some items. But a difference of $3 on the menu becomes $4.50 on the till! You also get served tea as a cup of hot water and an opened tea bag sachet! No teapots or sealed sachets apparently. There is a pool, however it had the same goose/duck droppings in it for the entire 3 days we were there! So the area is not cleaned! Yuck! The Riverview villas are in blocks of 4 units. 2 up and 2 down. Would be nice if they had doorbells. They have outside lighting but if left on would stay in all day as they do not have light sensors. Not very energy efficient No recycling bins anywhere again not very green! The rooms are sp****ly furnished with low quality flooring. A sofa bed with no bedding. A kitchen with only cutlery (we had to buy a knife to cut things) no cloth to wash up or clean or spare bin liners. A microwave but no bbq. The dinning area was a sad looking table and 2 chairs. The room lights were either all on or off. It needs a side table and a lamp. There is Air-con in both the living and bedroom but no remote. Which was irritating at night having to get out of bed to turn it on/off. The sliding door to the balcony had a very flimsy poor quality lock. There was a missing light globe in the bathroom. The most annoying thing was the toilet. After each flush someone had to go outside and reset the pump. After twice going to reception and waiting to have it reset I asked the maintenance man what to do and did it myself for the rest of our stay. Why we were given the room with the faulty toilet (there were others available) or not moved, when it was reported is beyond me! A fully functioning toilet is an essential feature! By far the biggest disappointment was the price. When we booked the price appear
Cosmo on Bank

Adelaide CBD
This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at, the warning signs were there as soon as you walk in the lobby. It was dirty, disorganised and some of the the other guests who were coming and going looked dodgy. The lift was dirty, the hallways were dirty, carpet sticky underfoot, the rooms were just as dirty, dated and generally rundown. You can’t sleep at night, the noice is terrible from the street below, lots of parting people, wandering crackheads in the early morning hours and then council workers cleaning up the streets. The photos and hotel description on the Qantas hotel booking page are completely misleading. Definitely do not stay here, it’s a dump !! I booked for two nights and left after night one, best decision even though it cost me more.
Atlantic Tower Motor Inn

Our room was on the 10th floor facing south east. We had an amazing view seeing the city, the Adelaide hills and Jetty Road (At night this looked even better). The room was very modern, with a nice sized TV. The weather was great for a beach side holiday. The short 300m walk to the beach was very convenient..... the fridge was very quite and ensured we had ice cold drinks upon return, the air conditioner worked great and allowed a great nights sleep. The bed was very comfortable. Check In and Check Out was contactless and very simple.
Hahndorf Old Mill Motel
4/5109 Reviews
I stayed at the Old Mill for work. Admittedly, I did choose the cheapest room, but it really wasn’t much good. Whilst the basic nature of the room was bearable, it was a few other factors that made the stay a little disappointing. Firstly, bedheads in the rooms are against the shared wall and the walls are thin. Lest say you can hear everything from the amorous couple next door (first night) and the screaming child at 5am (second night). Also, the decorative lights outside the rooms/ part of the street frontage are on all night and the room curtains are not block out material. Hence the rooms are quite bright, even with the spare blankets draped in the windows. I’d suggest if you’re considering staying at the Old Mill, book one of the other courtyard rooms or ask for a room not next to anyone else.

Great value for a couple. $99 per night, including an excellent quality Continental Breakfast. The room we have needed a revamp. The bed was excellent, and the shower had great pressure with easily adjusted water temperature.
