Die Zimmer sind schön und sehr ruhig. Das Negative: Wir hatten über die Plattform Trip.com gebucht und dort war das Frühstück mit 13 Euro angegeben, das man vor Ort bezahlen könne. Im Hotel verlangte man aber 19 Euro, obwohl ich die Webseite von Trip.com vorzeigte. Die Dame an der Rezeption meinte, die Fa. Trip.com wäre ein externer Anbieter und man müsse sich nicht an deren Preisen orientieren. Einen Nachlaß auf das Frühstück wollte sie nicht geben, da auch das Frühstück von einer externen Firma geliefert werde und das Hotel keinen Einfluß auf deren Preisgestaltung habe. Erhebt sich die Frage, wozu überhaupt noch jemand in der Rezeption steht, wenn man für nichts zuständig ist.

Booked this hotel for our ski holiday as only 60-90 mins from many ski resorts. Breakfast is amazing with lots of choice and every day had scrambled eggs and bacon plus many other options. Bus too opposite with number 4 bus running about every 20 mins until about 2230 hours. Cost for single is €3 euros. (Only take cash on buses). They also offer a day ticket for €4.50 but not sure if you have to buy this from a machine as didn’t offer on bus. You can buy a return ticket! We never had an issue with parking although the car park was often busy as the Sushi restaurant is very popular. There is also a Chinese buffet restaurant opposite called Huy Cook and Eat. ({€25). Food was good. They offered lots of raw fish and I wasn’t aware that they actually cook it for you! Rooms were cleaned every day and shower was awesome. I would have given this 5 stars but some of the reception staff weren’t very helpful. Eg. Not knowing any information about basic stuff like the buses!

It is a little far from the center, but I think there is a problem if you use the bus. When you arrive late at night or leave early in the morning, McDonald is nearby, so you can eat your stomach. I don't think there was any toothpaste. The room was clean and the air conditioner was available properly, so it was comfortable even in summer.

The hotel is very conveniently located just by Salzburg station. Bus r 2 connects it to the airport. Good area with restaurants and shops very close. 15/20 minutes walk to all the main attractions. The hotel was nice and clean. The staff nice and helpful. The common areas of the hotel are modern and clean. There's a room for the luggage if you need to keep it before checking in or after checking out. The rooms were spacious and clean. So is the bathroom. The breakfast was very good, the breakfast room has a lovely view of the city. The only complain we have is that the room was very hot and the shower head bracket didn't work.

Everything is very good except for a little further from the city centre, perfect for self-driving tourists. Great value for money! In the peak season of July and August, this price is really nothing to say.

There are two properties: one is a castle, the other is not. Plan yr expectations accordingly. We booked a double room in the annex property for three nights. This property is tired and needs an update. Our room (221) was in the attic and resembled a small Hampton Inn/Howard Johnson room from the 70's/80's. The furniture was IKEA-like and minimal. There was no refrigerator or minibar (no wine/bottle opener) in the room and they ask you to refill your complimentary bottle of water from the tap in the bathroom daily. Three nights of this (with breakfast - I'm coming to that - ) cost us 560E. The bathroom was updated and had an excellent shower. The accommodations were adequate, but the property (including the small, drab lobby) has not been updated since at least the 90's. The front desk staff was not particularly helpful or friendly (and I speak German), but we didn't have any issues during our stay. There was no Austrian Gemütlichkeit. The town of Salzburg is a brisk 20-minute walk from the hotel. There are no reasonable restaurants in the vicinity. An Uber was 14-16E when we looked at taking one from the hotel to the centre of town. Now to the other property: breakfast is served in the castle and is a very different experience than the annex. The staff is 5-star and cater to yr every wish. We would like to recognise Marianna and Gunista for their extraordinary service during our stay. The breakfast itself is very good and the selection is excellent. I have to say, that we did not appreciate the ”woke education” that was made visible in every corner of the castle. It is not the venue, and we did not come to the property for a lesson in atonement. It was not a bad stay; it was not a great stay. Adequate at what we perceived as a high price. Again, we hope our review will help guests set their expectations for these two properties. You decide!

This hotel is located very near to the main railway station and is easy to find. I arrived at 1am following a train from Vienna and had no problems at all my key was left on reception and room easy to locate. Beds in hotel are comfortable and a good shower in the room. The restaurant was not available and we were told beforehand so I can’t rate that. However the room size for 3 was plenty and was good for the price. The room was clean and had one larger bed a a single that were a little firm but comfortable, pillows and a blanket on each and were nicely made. A small table was in the middle of the room under a tv with on a pivot arm, so if you travel with an hdmi cable you’ll be able to access it. There were two windows/doors that were both useable and on even led to a small patio with a couple of chairs. Inclement weather kept us from utilizing this. There is also a standing fan for use and a wardrobe to keep your clothes in. The building is situated between a couple of bus stops for easy access so pick up a day pass for your duration. Using google maps will tell you which bus number to get on and when to exit the bus. The bathroom was well equipped and has an enclosed corner shower which is small (3.5ft/4ft square?) so keep your elbows in! Shower gel was provided as was hand soap at the sink. The towel rack was right about the radiator if you want to warm up your towels prior. Any time after May and you might not want to. The hotel isn’t flashy and the lobby is nice and well done. We stayed for 3 nights and tried to opt for an additional night but the room was already booked. We didn’t have any street noise and didn’t really hear any room neighbors until the last night. Thank you to the staff for their language skills!

The hotel was well situated with frequent busses and trams to centre of Salzburg. Staff helpful and friendly. Room not large but big enough and clean . Bed comfortable and large. Loved the tv screen saver very relaxing. Continental breakfast wasn’t expensive and had a good variety

Location: Very close to the old town. From the hotel through the tunnel, the left side is the horse pool, and the road is the old town. But the room rate is much cheaper than the old town, it is an excellent choice. Transportation: Downstairs is the bus stop, No. 1 bus directly to Central Station, ticket 2.4 Euro, can be purchased from the hotel reception Facilities: No air conditioning, no heating. So embarrassed: no windows, no air, open windows, noisy ** (roadside) More interestingly, the bath and toilet are separated, and the two people can stay at the time of check-in without affecting each other. There is inconvenient shopping nearby, about seven or eight minutes walk, there is a supermarket; there is an Asian restaurant at the entrance of the tunnel, the price is not known Finally, I also encountered the customer service door incident... speechless. Please Trip.com customer service processing.

We had a hard time finding a reasonably priced hotel during the Christmas market season, so choose to stay just outside of Salzburg in Hallein. The Auwirt is very close to the bus stop into town, very quiet, and very personable. Breakfast was wonderful--many choices--and, as many others have said, Margarete is such a warm and kind hostess.

Very nice hotel, this is the best hotel we have stayed in for a week. Although the facilities in his room are not particularly good, they are very warm and the scenery is beautiful outside. There are only a few dozen rooms in the entire hotel. The hotel is located in the mountains and there is no public transportation to reach, so it is suitable for driving in the past. Of course there is nothing shopping around, dinner is good in the hotel, the price is not expensive, the level of breakfast is significantly higher than other hotels.

Value for price. Very convenient. A roof top with an unbeatable view. Classic, large hotel room. Convenient parking and access (you need to know you're staying in a motorway service area). However the entrance to this service area is kind of confusing. Basically there are three or four consecutive exits leading to this area, for different types of vehicles.

Overall, it is a good place to stay for the price with basic amenities and simple rooms. Hotel food is good and best service there. While location is actually good with convenient bus connection into Salzburg directly in front of the property, it is a little difficult to find when driving from the autobahn. I don't understand why the hotel can't give precise instructions on how to find them being in a hidden street and even hidden from view from their own road ... such as ”Drive x kms off A2 away from Salzburg, then at the BP gas station traffic circle take the 2nd exit onto X road, drive 100 meters to the first street on the left” (or similar). Even the front of the hotel is hard to see and the front door is not at all visible from the road. Anyway ... front desk really needs to learn about hospitality ... plus during the day they are OFTEN not around having to wait for someone to come or beg restaurant staff to find someone to help at front desk ... even just to get room key. Note ... no air conditioning in hot summer months and window only opens a crack so hard to get some cooler air at night. Very little English TV (2 news channels).

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at the Hotel Das Essigmanngut. When we arrived at the hotel to we were greeted by friendly staff who couldn't of been more helpful. They gave us lots of information about the surrounding area including maps, local amenities and suggestions of things to do. The local Bus 25 was extremely convenient for us to get into Salzburg and the surrounding area and was only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. There was a good free car park at the hotel for those travelling by car but we relied on public transport which was fantastic. The hotel itself was immaculate. Everything was to a very high standard and eco conscious. There was plenty of places to sit inside and out and we made use of the complimentary hot drinks machine. We had a superior two bedroom apartment which included a small kitchenette, two bathrooms and two balconies. The rooms were cleaned daily to high standard by hardworking staff. Comfortable beds, toiletries and brand new, spacious bathrooms. Breakfast has to be one of the hightlights of our stay. Would go as far to say it was the best Breakfast we'd ever had abroad. There was always somewhere to sit even on the busier weekends. There was PLENTY of choice and the food was constantly being replenished. Hot and cold options to cater for all ages and tastes. A relaxing and enjoyable experience each morning, a great way to start the day before exploring Salzburg. One small negative for us was there is no restaurant or bar facility on site. So you do need to venture out for main meals. After a day spent exploring it would of been nice to have a proper sit down meal at the hotel and a relaxing drink into the evening. But we can't express how kind and helpful each member of staff was. All in all we highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to explore Salzburg and the surrounding areas. You will not be disappointed.

This stay coincided with the road construction in front of the hotel, the hotel did not place relevant detour instructions, etc. The hotel rooms are small, the facilities are relatively old, and the sound insulation effect is average. It is said that the house is 700 years old. The service attitude at the front desk of the hotel is okay, but the waiter in the restaurant has a very different attitude towards locals and Asian tourists. They have a bad attitude towards Asian tourists and are very indifferent.
