The Best Spring In The World

7.9
4.6/5
1.4k reviews
The Best Spring In The World is located in downtown Jinan, featuring "one river (the moat), one lake (Daming Lake), three springs (the Baotu Spring, Heihu Spring, and Wulongtan spring clusters), and four parks (Baotu Spring Park, Huancheng Park, Wulongtan Park, and Daming Lake Park)." The attraction centers around Baotu Spring, renowned as the "No. 1 Spring Under Heaven." Its waters flow into rivers and converge into lakes, harmoniously blending with the ancient Mingfu City. To the north lies Wulongtan (Five Dragon Pool), while to the east stretches Jinan's Huancheng Park (home to the Black Tiger Spring and other springs), both highly celebrated in Jinan. These springs boast exceptional water quality. Daming Lake, a natural lake formed by the convergence of numerous springs, receives water from its southern shore. When full, the water flows out through the Northern Water Gate, built during the Song Dynasty on the lake's north shore. The lakebed consists of impermeable igneous rock, preventing flooding during heavy rains or drought. Often described as "a confluence of springs merging to embrace the Jiluo region," it's hailed as the "Pearl of the Spring City." Similarly, the moat formed by spring waters encircles the ancient city like a jade belt, offering scenic cruise rides along its course. The attraction boasts stunning natural scenery and rich cultural heritage, featuring not only springs, rivers, and lakes but also numerous historical landmarks. Highlights include the Chaoran Tower dating back to the Yuan Dynasty and the Luoyuan Hall originally built during the Northern Wei Dynasty (now a Ming-era structure). Historical sites include the Luoshang Terrace, the former residence site of Qin Qiong, and the Beishui Gate. Notable former residences include the Nanfeng Ancestral Hall, Jiaxuan Ancestral Hall, Li Qingzhao Memorial Hall and Yi'an Old Residence, Tiegong Ancestral Hall, and Lao She Memorial Hall. Red tourism sites include the Jinan Massacre Memorial and the former site of the Shandong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China.China · Jinan

Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center

7.8
4.6/5
3.1k reviews
The Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center is located on the shores of Fushan Bay in eastern Qingdao, where the sailing competitions of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games were once held. Here stands the giant Beijing Olympic torch and the Olympic rings, and the harbor is filled with a spectacular array of sailing boats. This is also a great place to enjoy the sunset. The Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center is a vast area featuring a long coastal promenade. You can stroll along the seaside, or lean against the railing and gaze blankly at the sea and enjoy the sunset, savoring all kinds of coziness. By the sea at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, there is a sailing boat dock, where sailing boats with masts and private yachts are moored throughout the harbor, forming a beautiful scenic sight. You can also first go to May Fourth Square and walk along the seaside all the way to the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center (approx. 1 km). There is also a cruise terminal here, where sea sightseeing cruise ships dock. You can sit on the boat to look at the sea and enjoy the coastal scenery. Sea tours all last about one hour, with one departure time in the morning and one in the afternoon on weekdays, and a night tour in the evening. During holidays such as National Day, additional departure time slots are usually added. In the southern part of the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, there are several large buildings that once served as the venue area for the Olympic sailing competitions, and the Olympic Sailing Museum is now located here. Next to the museum, at the waterfront dock, stands the "Maritime Theater," which hosts a long-running nautical-themed performance titled "Dream of the Sea." At night, the exterior of this building is illuminated in changing colors such as red, yellow, blue, and purple, looking very beautiful from a distance. Walking to the southern end of the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, you will come to a boardwalk extending into the sea, known as "Lover's Dam." Here, various bars, coffee shops, and restaurants stand in abundance, and at the end of the boardwalk is a white lighthouse. It is a great place for a date with your partner in the evening; even if the two of you simply stroll around and enjoy the sea breeze, it is quite romantic.China · Qingdao
Jiuxian Mountain Valley Rafting

Jiuxian Mountain Valley Rafting

Shandong has many canyons and many water rafting activities, but the most exciting and ecological rafting is the Jiuxianshan Canyon Rafting in Rizhao. A river of green water and green mountains on both sides, such a beautiful scenery is the Jiuxianshan Longtan Grand Canyon. The Jiuxianshan Canyon Rapid Rafting is 3 kilometers long, with a total drop of nearly 100 meters. It is one of the rafting activities with the longest and largest drop in Shandong Province, and it is also famous for its beautiful scenery and harmonious ecology along the way. During the rafting process, the cascading rapids, the rolling white waves, and the ups and downs of the kayak. Especially when rushing over the dam, the up and down drop is very large. The kayak seems to be submerged in the water, and suddenly appears on the top of the wave. Although it is frightening, it is not dangerous. It makes people feel that their hearts are about to fly out, and the excitement is Unlimited. During holidays, the Jiuxianshan Canyon Rafting will be full of shouts and comfortable laughter. In the clear and turbulent valley water, let the whole body and mind go down with the rapids, and the fun of "returning to nature" will arise spontaneously. Under the blue sky, in the turquoise water, paddle the boat, splash water and laugh, ...; ...; no need to worry about winning or losing, no need to worry about whether your clothes get wet or not, let the joy of rapid drifting amplify your joy, experience a different summer in excitement, thrills, laughter and joy. The two banks are steep, the canyon is deep, and the forests are lush and bamboo. When you reach the deep water, your dancing hands feel tired, and the kayak gradually slows down. Looking back at the friends drifting over in the rapids, everyone has the word "satisfied" written on their faces. It is a great blessing to experience the fun of "forgetting the love in the mountains and rivers, playing in the blue waves" here.Wulian · 13.4km from downtown

Qingdao Underwater World

Qingdao Underwater World is a themed venue integrating marine life displays with science education, developed from the Qingdao Aquarium built in 1932, and comprising six major exhibition halls: the Dream Jellyfish Palace, the Seal Hall, the Marine Life Hall, the Whale Hall, the Underwater World, and the Freshwater Life Hall. Entering the Dream Jellyfish Palace, thousands of jellyfish of dozens of species display brilliant colors under the lighting, with moon jellies, ribbon jellyfish, flower hat jellies, and other species drifting gracefully in the water; together with interactive virtual walls and mist screen displays, they create a dreamlike jellyfish kingdom. In the Seal Hall, visitors can observe spotted seals, sea lions, penguins, and sea turtles up close, these marine mammals moving freely in the blue venue. The Marine Life Hall systematically displays marine specimens in the order of biological evolution, covering fish, marine mammals, corals, and many other categories, and is an important window for understanding marine biodiversity. Next, you enter the underwater world area built entirely underground. The more than 80 m long underwater tunnel is made of acrylic glass and features viewing windows at various angles; strolling through it, you can feel surrounded by a multitude of marine creatures such as sharks, rays, and sea turtles. In the cylindrical tank, schools of tropical fish such as clownfish can be seen swimming around the coral. The live underwater performances in the underwater theater are a major highlight of the attraction: "Dancing with Sharks" is thrilling and exciting, the "Dream Mermaid" performance is aesthetically romantic, and programs such as underwater ballet and "Monkey King Havoc in the Underwater World" are staged in rotation. Finally, you can visit the Freshwater Biology Hall, which is landscaped with Inca and Mayan cultural elements and features a large Chinese sturgeon tank, where you can also see rare freshwater creatures such as arapaima and redtail catfish, and amphibians and reptiles are exhibited on the second floor. The visiting route through the entire attraction is one-way, passing in sequence through the Dream Jellyfish Palace, Seal Hall, Marine Life Hall, Whale Hall, Underwater World, and Freshwater Biology Hall, with no backtracking along the way, so it is recommended to set aside ample time to explore at a leisurely pace.China · Qingdao

This was my first time visiting Baotu Spring. I went in the afternoon to avoid the crowds, so the experience wasn't too bad. The three springs were bubbling away, and the water was crystal clear. No wonder it's called the City of Springs! 👍

The boat departs at 9:30 AM. If you arrive early, you can take photos with the Olympic torch. The boat has three decks, and it looks beautiful when the sun shines on the shimmering water. However, it doesn't go very far, there are no seagulls, and it's a bit shaky. Overall, the experience is just average.

Lian Island Scenic Area boasts beautiful scenery, soft sandy beaches, and clear waters. The island offers numerous seafood stalls, making it ideal for a relaxing vacation. The scenic area is well-managed and has excellent facilities, but it can get crowded during peak season. Overall, it was a good experience, and I recommend visiting outside of peak times. I visited during off-peak season, which contributed to my excellent experience.

It is especially suitable for older children to play together. The water flow is relatively fast. I personally think it is the best in Shandong. There is no other. The disadvantage is that the opening hours are relatively short every day, about 12:30-13:00. It is recommended to consult before going.

Visiting a real tomb-turned-tomb site for the first time, I was truly awestruck by the wisdom of the Han Dynasty people. The anti-theft notice written by Liu Zhu, "There's no silver buried here," was also quite interesting and a novel experience. Outside, there's a beautiful garden, many interesting stone carvings, and plaques treasured in the Imperial Edict Museum—it was quite impressive.

There weren't many people when I went in October, so the experience was great. I watched the show, but the boat tours in the scenic area were closed that day. I asked at the visitor center and found out that I could take a boat from Pier 1, which is about a 15-minute walk away. Overall, it was alright.

There are numerous performances throughout the day in the ancient city, and the night view after the lights come on at the entrance is truly beautiful.
