Things to do in Yantai

We spent the morning sightseeing. It was quite crowded during the National Day holiday. The scenery was beautiful, and the hike was relaxing. Having just seen the Eight Immortals, bringing the kids to experience Penglai made the experience even more memorable.

I visited the wine cellar today, and the atmosphere was fantastic! Every photo I took looked amazing. The staff were all incredibly friendly, and the explanations of the brandy were very detailed. I felt I learned a lot of professional knowledge. You can even get your own brandy from the oak barrels at the back, which was very meaningful. If you have the time and interest, you should definitely come and visit!

Upon entering, I was greeted by a spectacular performance by eight "gods." The scenic area is stunning from above, with the red brick buildings and clear waters complementing each other beautifully, making it a great place for photos. The recent high temperatures in Yantai have been incredibly hot, so a cooler day would have been a much better experience. Be sure to wear sunscreen.

The scenic area cleverly blends culture and nature. A classic route begins at the entrance, visits the group of immortal sculptures, strolls along the mountain and sea trails, and finally culminates in a panoramic view from the viewing platform overlooking the azure sea and sky interwoven with classical architecture. Unique experiences include riding the "Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea Cableway," soaring through the air and enjoying magnificent scenery from a unique perspective. The entire tour takes approximately 2 hours, is of moderate intensity, and suitable for all ages.

The most worthwhile island to visit on this trip has a unique pebble beach and the sea has beautifully layered colors. Nine-Chang Cliff is very easy to climb, even for seniors. The shuttle bus is highly recommended; it's cheap, punctual, and comfortable, unlike what some travel guides say. The ferry is also good; you can feed the seagulls, although the toilets are slightly lacking.

Yangma Island is truly a beautiful place with crystal-clear waters. A walk around the island along the coastline is a great option. Hiking is also a wonderful experience; you can take photos as you go, and the scenery is amazing.

I initially thought it was just a man-made tourist attraction with nothing to do, but once inside, I found that the photos turned out beautifully, and there were many treasures worth admiring. It was definitely worth the trip.

This trip to Fujian was an absolute blast! First, we visited Yantai Mountain in Fuzhou, where the old houses are scattered in a charming, artistic atmosphere. Strolling along the old streets was perfect for taking photos. After that, we headed to Beibu Gulf in Pingtan. For dining, we chose Xiaobailou Seafood Restaurant. It's the only one of its kind in Beibu Gulf, run by three veterans – a reliable and trustworthy business. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful, assisting with ordering without being pushy. The seafood was freshly caught, authentic, and of high quality. If you're looking for authentic seafood, this is the place to go. In the evening, we stayed at the Beibu Gulf Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cluster Youth Hostel. The environment was clean and refreshing, with spacious common areas. We met fellow travelers from all over the world. The location was excellent, making it convenient for sightseeing and offering great value for money – perfect for backpacking. From the artistic streets of Yantai Mountain in Fuzhou to the stunning coastal scenery of Pingtan, the food and accommodation were both very satisfying. This one-stop trip for Fujian is highly recommended!

The scenic area is very large; if you have enough time, you could easily spend five or six hours there. I only spent two and a half hours there, and missed many attractions. The Nanshan Giant Buddha is tall and benevolent; sincerity is key.
