A fantastic experience! Both attractions are well worth visiting. Those who enjoy history and culture shouldn't miss Boyana Cathedral; it's small, but the frescoes inside are fascinating (one depicts the Last Supper, predating Leonardo da Vinci's version, with a completely different composition). Our guide, Martin, was incredibly kind and his explanations were very entertaining, like listening to a stand-up comedy routine—he really knew how to keep everyone engaged. Also, if you buy bread outside the Rila Monastery, there are three types. The best is the Traditional (middle denomination, 1 local currency). The other two are enormous, weighing a pound (750 grams)! The day before the trip, you'll receive an email with the meeting time and guide's name; arriving 10 minutes early is usually sufficient.★

The city is very beautiful, and the guide was invaluable in providing important explanations and information. Everything was beautiful. Perhaps with an extra hour of free time (10 total), it would have been even better to discover and visit other museums.
