Excellent guided tour, the bus ride is a bit long, but the beauty of the Rila Monastery and the majestic interior of the church more than makes up for it. There are few places to eat there, and if you're having a rainy day, it can be a bit inconvenient. For €1, I recommend trying the typical "frittelle" at the stand just outside Exit 2. From what I saw, they accept cards everywhere, although it's recommended to carry cash. In our free time, given the bad weather, we popped into the historical museum. It was interesting but nothing special (museum admission only €4.50). If the weather had been nice, I think we would have preferred a nature walk. The Boyana Church (entrance fee not included) is also very interesting. Entry is limited both in terms of time and number of people, because the guide explains this first with large photos and then you're alone inside. It would be much nicer if the custodians shared some information while you're inside. Ina, the guide, was very helpful, recommended.

Martin was exceptional! Super funny and skilled guide, I enjoyed my time along the day! The places we visited were breathtaking! Highly recommend! Also, a mention to the driver… super good, it’s not easy to drive in such streets! 10/10 experience!

Daniel drove us to Mt Vitosha and he was very knowledgeable about the area etc. His English was amazing and he couldn't do enough to help us. He stayed with us for a little while during our lesson as the instructor English wasn't as good as his..this helped massively. We mentioned we wanted to try bulgarian food to Daniel and he sorted this for our lunch. The skiing lessons were great and everyone was super friendly. 100% recommend.


