I’m an avid traveller and this was easily one of the top three things I’ve ever experienced. The glacier was incredible. The staff and guide, Ruby, were so friendly and knowledgeable. I can’t recommend this experience enough.

If you're staying in Franz Josef then this activity is a must. From the moment you arrive in the Franz Josef Wilderness Tours establishment you are made to feel welcome and any nervousness you may have is quickly dispelled. These guys are big on safety and instructing you on how to ride these beasts safely but with an emphasis on having a fun filled adrenaline time. Once we arrived at the bike shed we were given wet weather gear, gum boots, helmets and even sun glasses. We were then split into smaller groups where our instructor Justin led us of into the valley. We proceeded to ride through gravel tracks, rain forest tracks and multiple river crossings, stopping at every stage for Justin to brief us and also take photos. (complimentary BTW). My wife and I really enjoyed the whole experience and Justin made the whole group feel safe and his enthusiasm just added to the whole afternoon. I give experience 10 out 10.


