Local to York and have been many times, however, the tour took us to places that I have never noticed but will go back to again. Varied route, a good mixture of tricky to easier to solve clues, a few kept us (and others we saw) guessing. Gets the brain working while experiencing this magnificent city. Took us a little longer than advertised as we wanted to take in the surroundings and stop for refreshments. Great way to see the city.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our standard tour from start to finish: an activity truly suitable for any age from very very young to very very old! Rachel our guide was simply superb, with outstanding delivery, knowledge and thoughtfulness throughout. The mixture of history, facts and interactivity were spot on, with the decorating a chocolate lolly being genuine simple enjoyment for all, whilst my favourite part was watching the filled chocolates being created at the very end. I had expected maybe one or two samples to taste so was really pleasantly surprised when we had eight altogether (we think!) ranging from cocoa nibs and chocolato to one of the filled chocolates at the end and a Kit Kat! I especially liked the effort put in to recreate historical chocolate from the 1800s and being able to taste things like cocoa mass and chocolato, which aren’t things you would normally get to try.
