Zhangzi Island

Zhangzi Island is located at the southern end of the Changshan Islands. It is said to have been named for the herds of roe deer that once roamed its forests and the abundance of fish and shrimp in its bays, and it is known as the "Pearl of the Yellow Sea." The buildings on the main island are mostly European in style, with two-story houses featuring white walls and red tiles scattered along the hillsides, backed by green mountains and facing the sea. Most of the island's attractions revolve around the sea: the Eagle Beak Rock on the cliffs of the southeast coast resembles the head of an eagle with its head held high and is an iconic reef on the island. You can walk down the stone steps through the forest to reach the seaside. The statue of the Sea Goddess on the high ground is carved from a single piece of white marble and faces the sea. Jinshatan Beach is the main place for swimming, while the Dongbei Glass Sea is not suitable for swimming due to its rough waves and deep water, but its water is crystal clear and perfect for sightseeing. The golden season to visit the island is from May to September. This sea area is rich in seafood such as sea cucumber, abalone, Ezo scallop, and sea urchin. Staying in a fisherman's guesthouse and eating fisherman's meals are unique experiences on the island. Fisherman's dishes such as hand-rolled noodles with sweet potato leaves and stewed salted fish with radish strips are worth a try. The locals also maintain the hospitality custom of "dumplings before boarding, noodles upon returning." The Fisherman's Festival, held every summer since 2000, is a festival for the islanders themselves. If you happen to visit during this time, you can experience the local fishing culture more authentically.

Dachangshan Island is located in the middle of the Changshan Islands and is the seat of the Changhai County Government. Dachangshan Island is named after the island is long and mountainous. The coast on the island is twisty, the bays are connected, and there are many natural and cultural landscapes. There is a sea garden on Dachangshan Island. The architecture combines European and Northeast Asian styles. It is a charming sea town. The Dachangshan Island tourist attraction consists of 28 islands including Dachangshan Island, Haxian Island and Serry Island. Looking at Dachangshan Island from a distance, it looks like a crouching dragon lying on a wave, the dragon head is slightly raised, and the undulating dragon body in the middle is the wriggling dragon body; Jinchantuo in Jinchangang and Yuanyangtuo in Yuanyanggang are also vivid. At the southern end of Dachangshan Island is the Qixiang Garden, where the goddess of protection, the goddess of the sea, is enshrined in the hearts of fishermen. The goddess of the sea held high the lotus lantern and gazed at the sea a hundred miles ahead with kind eyes, to protect the harmony of all boats and the safety of all people. Every year on the thirteenth day of the first lunar month, it is the birthday of the goddess of the sea, men, women and children. Thousands of sea lanterns are put into the sea, drifting with the current and flickering. The Sanyuan Palace is a newly built building on the island. Standing at the gate of the Sanyuan Palace, it faces the vast sea and the lush green mountains. The scenery is quite good. There is Yinniuwan tourist area in the east of Dachangshan Island Scenic Spot, Beihai Bathing Beach in the central and northern parts, Huanhai Park, Sanyuan Palace, Shuangfeng Chaoyang Tower in the middle, and "Sea People's Family" Resort, Yuanyangwan Resort and Shoudao Jiandao in the west. Memorial Park. There are many fishing entertainment on Dachangshan Island and Haxian Island.

Xiaochangshan Island is located in the center of the Changshan Islands, 54 nautical miles from Dalian. It faces Dachangshan Island, the seat of the Changhai County government, across the sea, just 1.6 km away. The scenic area covers the island itself, as well as 28 other islands, islets, and reefs, including Wumang Island and Bashao Island. It features beautiful scenery, lush green mountains, dense forests, and a harmonious blend of mountains and sea. With deep waters and numerous reefs along the coast, it is rich in fish resources and serves as a base for sea fishing in China. Situated within the "Haiyang Island Fishing Ground," it is known as a "gifted fishing village" and is abundant in seafood delicacies such as sea cucumbers, abalones, and scallops. Compared with Dachangshan Island, the sand here is finer and the water clearer, and it takes only a 5-minute boat ride to arrive. The ramps of the ro-ro ships act like drawbridges; when lowered, they rest directly on the beach, allowing passengers to board and disembark easily without the need for a dedicated pier. The island boasts a natural beach with clean sand and clear water, serving as a paradise for local residents' morning exercises. Nearby, on the reefs, seagulls play and circle in flocks. At high tide, the seawater gently washes over the beach, bringing in green kelp. At low tide, the reefs at the northeastern end connect, making it a great spot for fishing and clam digging. In addition, the island holds a historical secret: the movie "Secret Drawings" was inspired by a submarine dry dock blueprint leak. In 1962, a submarine dry dock was built in Dahegou in the eastern part of the island. Near the end of the project, the blueprints were stolen, and the project was subsequently abandoned. Today, this dry dock, which is 1000 m long, 15 m wide, and 12 m deep, has been converted into a cage aquaculture farm. Visitors can row a small wooden boat into this dim "world without light," use a flashlight to examine the moss on the cave walls, watch the cage floats bobbing in the dark water, and experience a unique sense of mystery and fun.

[Scenery] [Fun] [Value for money] The scenery here is beautiful, far away from the mainland, and the air is particularly fresh. You can see the stars in the sky at night. Eat authentic fisherman's food and enjoy the vastness of the sea. The red house is a major feature here.

I went to Dachangshan Island in late September. There were few tourists. The island was peaceful and relaxing, and I could fully experience the island style. Strolling along Binhai Road in the city, fishing by the sea is also a scenery, and watching fishing boats. Cross the cross-sea bridge to Xiaoshuikou Forest Park. The sea water is clean and clear, and it is a beautiful place to take pictures. I took pictures of the lighthouse at Yuanyang Port on the island. I took the No. 1 bus on the island for 2 yuan to cross Dachangshan Island and Xiaochangshan Island. The slow traffic allows you to enjoy the coastal scenery and experience the local customs and customs of the small town on the island. It is worth it.

We took a boat from Pikou Port, the ticket was 55 yuan per person, and the car to the island was 320 yuan. It is recommended to drive to the island, you can carry sea-hunting tools, tents, etc., and it is convenient to play. Go to the east to watch the sunrise and go to the west to watch the sunset. The scenery is beautiful. There are no traffic lights on the island, and the speed limit is 40 on some sections; there are also taxis and electric cars that scan codes. You can take a boat with bread to feed seagulls. It is 4 pm to go to the island, and there are only a few seagulls. It is 9 am when leaving the island, and there are more seagulls. When the tide is low, there are many places on the island to go to the sea, which is very convenient. The folk customs on the island are simple and the locals are very friendly. There is a Luhai Ramen Restaurant on the island. The oyster noodles and prawn noodles are particularly delicious. It is recommended. You can also bring your own seafood for the boss to process. Accommodation recommends Changhai Moon Bay Hotel, which is located on the beach of Moon Bay. The sea view room is cost-effective and the included breakfast is also good. There are also many homestays on the island, which are very good, including food and accommodation (including three meals a day), ranging from 350 to 580 per person during the May Day holiday. You can also choose to stay only and eat at the restaurant. The breakfast shop on the island is the same price as outside, and the restaurant is not too expensive. The sea yellow croaker and black fish are delicious. The only regret is that the Fairy Lake Scenic Area is not open, so I couldn't see it. During the May Day holiday, while scenic spots across the country were full, this place was not crowded, but comfortable and cozy. In short, this trip to Guanglu Island was very happy and suitable for family leisure and entertainment.

Xiaoshuikou Park, located on Xiaochangshan Island, features two main natural landscapes: 1. A seaside boardwalk and a popular glass walkway: The 800-meter-long boardwalk includes a 30-meter-long suspended glass walkway, offering direct views of the reefs and the crystal-clear, turquoise sea. On sunny days, the water is a stunning blue-green, creating the "glass sea" effect often seen online – perfect for photos. Shoe covers are not required on the glass walkway; those with a fear of heights can use the inner path. 2. Lieyubei Viewing Platform (High Point): Climb a short section of the boardwalk for a 360° panoramic view of the archipelago, including Mingzhu Shuangtuo, Dachangshan Island, and numerous smaller islands in the distance. This panoramic view offers the best vantage point for sea photography. 3. Island Forest Oxygen Bar: With over 80% forest coverage, the park features black pine forests. Most of the boardwalk is shaded, providing shade in summer. The cool sea breeze makes it a pleasant walk, as the terrain is gentle with only a few steps, making it suitable for seniors. The park features pavilions, rest platforms, a wishing tree, restrooms, and small shops selling water and cold drinks.

The islands under the jurisdiction of Changshan Island are also called Changshan Islands. Although Changshan Island is located in the vast ocean and is remote, it is one of the earliest birthplaces of human beings in Dalian and the island culture.

Ticketing was convenient and quick, the attractions were excellent, and I gained a deep understanding of historical events, experiencing history immersively. By the way, Zhang Shaoshuai's house is really huge! The queue for the Grand Green Building was too long to go in, but I'll go again next time!
