Grand Casino Hinckley

Overall, we a had a great time. Staff were very nice at the front desk, and seemed to be as accommodating as they could. The hotel is about a mile off of the 35 freeway, so it is convenient. If you need handicap parking, don't expect to get it or to park close. There is extremely limited handicap parking, and the overflow parking lat was closed for an event. Expect to have to walk far when you park. Although the gambling floor is now smoke free, they have a smoking lounge and smoking rooms. First impressions are the most important, and when you walk into the hotel lobby, you are overtaken with the stale, undesirable smell of cigarette smoke. Not good! There are 3 open restaurants and a three bars which we noticed. They buffet is closed, and when asked, there is no plan to reopen it yet. They do have people walking around and offering bar drinks, but they are few and far, so I wouldn't rely on that means for drinks. You are better off going to get your own. Stories restaurant has good food and service. The Hostess could have been more welcoming, but we are all entitled to off days. Our hotel room was pretty wore out. Furniture was outdated and beat up. Carpet squares in rooms are fraying. TV's are old and remotes don't reliably work. They have had a lot of use, thus intermittently work. Linen is all white and smells freshly washed. Our room had chewed gum on the floor next to the bed and under one of the beds. You can tell they don't deep clean or remove furniture to vacuum, because there is a layer of white dust behind the bed, nite stand and desk which hasn't been cleaned in a while. If you are Zombie Virus concerned, I would bring your own disinfectant wipes to clean remotes, phones, knobs, fridge, and anything else other people touch in the room to ensure it is disinfected. There is no sign that they do it. Rooms are loud. You can hear water running in other rooms, the people talking in the connected room next to you, and people yelling, running and kids screaming in the halls. There is a big crack under the door, so we stuffed a towel under the door to help deaden the hallway sound. We were told the hot tub was not working, but it was when we checked it out. The pool and area is nice and clean with a lot of big windows and natural light. We didn't swim, so I am not sure if there were pool towels available for use. Overall, I would stay again. I would not pay the close to 140.00 a night again though. If it the hotel was updated, this facility may be worth that price. There is a game room near the front desk for kids, the pool, hot tub, bars, and good food. I would give this hotel and ****** a C+ grade with room to learn from the patrons whom keep it in operation.

I recently found myself in a pinch and needed a cheap motel room fast! I found Norwood Inn and suites in Roseville Minnesota through a quick google search. I was able to get a room for under $50 a night through Trip. To my surprise Norwood Inn and suites was a full functioning hotel with a pool, continental, breakfast, and modern amenities, comparable to any major hotel chain. The front desk and rest of staff were first rate! I recommend this place to anyone looking to book a cheap but nice place to stay in the Twin Cities. Russell “Rusty” Strong Eden Prairie, MN

My adult daughter and I had checked into the room around 5pm. The room smelled somewhat 'smokey' or maybe it was just musty, not sure. After inside the room for a bit you could no longer smell it; which I guess is good. When we returned to the room after a concert, they had locked the main hotel door so we had to walk around and find a door we could access; even with our key. You had to enter via their banquet facility. A bit irritating because 2 females walking around a hotel very early in the morning is not safe.

At that time, 18-year-olds were not allowed to check in. I asked the taxi from the airport to help the driver to submit the documents... It was a very social experience! The front desk service is also very good, very reasonable. The layout of the room is ok, it is a bit small. Although the window inside is only half of the wall, my room is just on one side, so there are two side windows, the view is still very good, at least you can see the light right. The environment is very quiet.

Check in was ok... Although clerk stated they were full when we arrived after midnight and we had booked thru their Res Dept. Once she found out I was a diamond member she then changed her attitude! Pool is down due to some funk in the pool Breakfast was so so, eggs were very salty! Coffee should be available all day but they only have it during breakfast hours, however, they will give you packets for your room but no creamer so I need to run over to Walmart to grab some!

Fabulous hotel & staff ,& great location. Shower could do with a seat & grab bars at shower end & a detachable showerhead, & grab rails at toilet, to make it more suitable for those of us with disabilities. And power assisted/self opening room doors/doors throughout hotel. Shame bar wasn't open. Room bins could have done with emptying more regularly. Rooms would be better with a keurig coffee machine than percolator, plus coffee in rooms wasn't great, glad I brought my own. But other than those few things, a great hotel, staff, breakfast & coffee in breakfast room were fantastic. Staff were all very friendly & very helpful. Certainly better than the last hotel I stayed at in Rochester MN.
Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis

We stayed at the Four a Seasons for a quick weekend. They emailed in advance of our stay to see if we needed a car service, dinner reservations, and to gather other preferences. Everything was exquisite from start to finish. This is a brand new Four Seasons (and my new favorite)! A spa treatment is a must—I booked a massage with Lindsey and it was the best massage I’ve ever had! The only (small) minus is that the co-ed hot tub was in the same area as the indoor pool. So there are children in the area (with all that entails). But there is also. Hot tub, sauna, etc within the gendered locker rooms that are kid free, so plenty of alternative options.
