"We stayed during the hottest few days of may  And the room was quite warm!!! The fan was only adequate I would say the balcony could have done with a bit of revamp to the wooden furniture and a Flick with duster ! However , minor really as the hotel is very nice staff friendly and the breakfast choices are fabulous! Not so much in the brasserie  restaurant a bit expensive for the choice too  Plus There is a sneaky service charge! Why I don’t know as the first night the service took ages and it wasn’t busy ! Overall good"

Our beautiful manor house mixes contemporary luxury with Georgian aesthetics, seamlessly intertwining comfort and sophistication. We are two miles from the regency town of Cheltenham. Indulge in our full-service spa and afternoon tea lounge, along with our indoor pool, steam room, sauna, hot tub, and not forgetting our complimentary welcome Cookie.

"Out of all the hotels we stayed at on our trip, the DoubleTree by Hilton was definitely our favorite, followed by Hampton and Holiday Inn. Sticking with chain hotels really does save you from bad experiences. This particular DoubleTree is located in the Cotswolds, making it super convenient for visiting the nearby towns. Before checking in, we popped over to Bibury. As the sun set and the tourists left, the town was absolutely serene and beautiful! We had planned to wake up early the next day to experience the peaceful beauty of Bourton-on-the-Water before the crowds arrived, but the youngsters just couldn't get out of bed, so that plan fell through. There's a local supermarket right next to the hotel, which has a great selection and good prices – perfect for stocking up on snacks if you're driving. The breakfast was delicious, and the welcome cookies were a lovely treat. The environment is beautiful, and I'd definitely recommend it. If you're driving to the Cotswolds, staying here is an excellent choice!"

"We only really stayed here as a base to go out and explore Gloucester. The bed was comfortable and the room was ok.The bathroom was nice and the best part of the room. The room was absolutely boiling, there was no air conditioning (which wasn’t a huge issue for us),but the radiator was was on even though the dial was in zero.Even though the window was open,it was way too hot in the room. The spa was ok,the pool wasn’t very warm and the jacuzzi wasn’t really blowing any bubbles. Was a good location to visit Gloucester and the quays are a lovely place to visit. We won’t be staying at the hotel again, but did the job for what we required."

The BEST WESTERN Compass Inn stands in six acres of beautiful grounds in the heart of the countryside near Bristol, with its prettiness perched on the edge of the Cotswolds for complete convenience! The walking is wonderful, and of course, the world famous Badminton horse trials are held in the neighboring village should you want a little pedigree with your personality. We're lucky to call this quiet rural location home, as we hope you will be during your visit... with such fantastic access to both the M4 and M5 motorways! If you're here for a quick stopover, we'll be no less accommodating than if you were with us for an extended stay, and Heathrow airport is only one and a half hours by car to make it easy to leave us when the time comes (though our high standards and commitment to your comfort may make your exit a tad harder to complete!). Ideally suited for visiting Bristol, Bath and the Cotswolds, guests will benefit from excellent access in and out, whether choosing us to host meetings, functions or relaxing breaks. Enjoy your stay.

The Days Inn Michaelwood hotel is perfectly placed for the M5 corridor offering you comfortable modern rooms at a great value. Suitable for business stop-overs leisure stays or groups. Parking charges apply 5.00 for cars and 15.00 for HGVs and coaches

"Disappointed at first off when I found out I had to pay a further £5 for parking my car. First appearance was it seemed very dated. The room was ok, bed clean and comfortable, tea, coffee making facilities. TV was a limited on stations, but absolutely no WiFi or if there was it wasn’t available in my room. Noise from the next door room, and from upstairs in particular was unbearable, I think they must have been real heavyweights as every step across their room was vibrating down through my ceiling, and at one point sounded like they were jumping off the bed it was so loud, I actually thought they would be coming through. The bathroom had really seen better days, felt grubby, mould on the ceiling, plugs in both the bath and the sink were old and broken, and the bath itself had seen better days, but on a positive note the towels were clean. All in all I didn’t feel it was worth the £72 plus parking fees and wouldn’t recommend, unless you could get it for less than £40 Max."

Have stayed here several times and usually have a good experience, except for the breakfast arrangements at the beefeater next door. On this occasion, we arrived with relatives in their 80s to find the rooms that had been refurbished and only completed that day, had no electricity. There was only one person on the desk, and it was a busy day in mid Dec. The poor girl fried frantically to get the electric working in both rooms, for over an hour, eventually moving us to other rooms on another floor, but again, no electric. We we're beginning to give up hope. Already feeling low as we were attending a younger relatives' funeral the next day. But after 90 minutes, she finally succeeded by using 2 key cards in the lighting slot, giving us light. Needless to say we were all tired and weary. To her credit she offered a refund for the cost of breakfast to compensate, and on feeding our experience back to Premier Inn, they also discounted the cost of the rooms. So we were happy with that, and generally we would stay here again. Our only other gripe is with the arrangement for breakfast in the beefeater accross the carpark. Having booked full English breakfast, that is what you expect. But being asked on arrival have you paid or not is poor practice, and would expect the booking in and restaurant services to be linked, so that question becomes mute. Then to go through each item in the English breakfast menu to be asked how many of each item is required is really unacceptable. I do hope they seriously explore a better way to greet and serve their customers. Most hotels would usually just ask your room number, which tells them if you have paid for breakfast or not, and then serve you the item as listed on the menu.

I actually live in the neighborhood around this hotel, but I booked it to host a friend for the weekend. It's not the easiest option in the vicinity to walk to from the train station, though the walk which goes along the canal for most of the way is super scenic if you have time to spare on arrival. The cab to the hotel was also fairly quick and cost us about fifteen quid. Check-in was super convenient and casual, and the girl working walked us up to the room to introduce all the amenities and features of our room. The room was well equipped but it was a little bit of a disappointment that it didn't have a mini fridge - there aren't a lot of food options or supermarkets in easy walking distance from the hotel, so we had brought some items with us that we had to leave on the windowsill to keep chilled. Overall though the room was great. The lower level living room was a super comfy spot to chill and eat, and then the raised bedroom was incredibly cosy. I'm 5'11” and I will say I almost took myself out on the sloped walls a few times - I imagine anyone taller would have to be very careful. I've noticed that showers in this area generally aren't super hot or pressurised, but the setup here wasn't too bad. The pub below is of course super charming, a great place to sit with a pint and watch the sunset, though we didn't try the food. I will probably come back to this pub, and would stay in the inn again if I ever have any reason to.

Here’s a polished, warm, and genuinely glowing review that flows beautifully and captures everything you experienced at The Bear of Rodborough: --- We spent a wonderful weekend at The Bear of Rodborough, staying on Friday and Saturday night, and it was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. The hotel itself is full of charm, with a beautiful setting and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast was included both mornings and was a real highlight. It was such a refreshing change to have a cooked‑to‑order breakfast rather than a full buffet, while still being able to help ourselves to fruit, yoghurt, and pastries. Everything was fresh and delicious. We chose to dine at the hotel restaurant on both evenings, and the food was exceptional. The style is very much modern, refined cuisine, and both the duck and the stone bass were beautifully cooked and full of flavour. It felt special without being pretentious. The hotel also has a pub, which has a great atmosphere and adds to the overall charm of the place. Whether you want a relaxed drink or a cosy corner to unwind in, it’s a lovely space. Throughout our stay, the staff were consistently attentive, friendly, and genuinely eager to make sure everything was perfect. Their warmth really added to the experience. All in all, we had a truly lovely stay and would happily recommend The Bear of Rodborough to anyone visiting the Cotswolds. We’d love to return.

Mansley refers to their properties as ”managed apartments”. There is no on site staff, you check in online and get a single code that gets you into the building, your room, and the parking. They are very attentive during the stay to make sure you know that if you need anything they are a phone call away. I absolutely love this concept! The property itself appears to have been recently renovated and in immaculate condition. The room was stunning. You walk into a living room area with kitchen with soaring 2 story ceilings. The bedroom is an upstairs loft with king size bed. Towels, linens, mattress, coffee service, etc. are all top of the line. The location can't be beat. Right in the heart of town center with everything you could possible need a short walk away. They have a secure parking lot right next to the property as well. I have stayed at all of the trendy hotels in Cheltenham. This is by far my favorite. Won't stay anywhere else when in Cheltenham. Can't wait to try another Mansley property.
