The waterfall is amazing! Especially when you are going through the tunnel under it. But gosh, it was sososo crowded this July: in the line in the tunnel people almost didn't move... Huangguoshu Waterfall Cost- ¥210 for adults Attractions - A shuttle bus will take you to 3 scenic areas, however, Huangguoshu Waterfall is by far the best attraction in the park. You can observe the waterfall from below, above and behind! We recommend staying close to the park so you can arrive as early as possible to avoid the crowds. We stayed in Zhenning, Anshun. Last year, one of the most famous waterfall in China launch night travel. It is a wonderful experience to both experience the beauty of nature with well designed performance and light show. With student discounts, only 100+ bucks, it is well worth the experience. When we are traveling, due to the Covid reason, the attraction is almost empty, which gives tourists much better experience. The performance is great, and at night, the temperature is much cooler. Such tour is recommended if you want to have a less crowded experience for the waterfall and enjoy the wanderful performances. The only downside is that the tickets is different from the day travel and you cannot buy one ticket to enjoy both day view and night view.

Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and escape to the mountainous region of Guizhou. This boutique hotel is nestled in a partially developed serene forest area of Zhenning (just outside of Anshun). If you’re looking for rest and relaxation without any disturbances then this is your place to go. The room that we were in had a bathtub overlooking the mountains and Balinghe Bridge. Both of which looked breathtaking at sunrise and sunset. * Getting There - At the Anshun railway station we managed to get a private cab that took us to this hotel. We had to negotiate a fair price with him and asked him to collect us as well upon checkout. * Attractions - The hotel overlooks the striking Balinghe Brige which can you bungee jump off depending on the weather. The Balinghe Bridge holds the Guinness World Record for the being the highest (370.25m) commercial bungee jump facility in the world. * Food & Restaurants - The only food available was that of the hotel. This place is remote so I suggest that you should make proper travel arrangements for pickup with the same person that dropped you off. From the railway station, it is about a 45-minute drive here and you can easily find a shuttle/metered cab/Didi from the train station. * Ambiance/Facilities – There is nothing do here except relax and take in the tranquility that this hotel has to offer. The most important stop on my Guizhou trip ~ Huangguoshu Waterfall, of course 🎉 1⃣ I happened to encounter a half-price ticket offer for tourists from Zhejiang Province, which saved me a lot of money. Guizhou often has half-price or free ticket offers, so you can follow the official WeChat accounts of the cultural and tourism bureaus or scenic spots of major cities. 2⃣ We arrived near the scenic spot the night before. The area is full of hotels, B&Bs, and restaurants. We booked a cancellable room online and then decided whether to check in after seeing the room in person. If there are vacancies, you can sometimes negotiate the price on site. 3⃣ For meals, the dishes and flavors are pretty much the same at any restaurant. You can compare menus and prices first. 4⃣ The next day, we got up early at 5:00 a.m., had breakfast, and rushed to the scenic spot as soon as it opened to catch the first shuttle bus. There were far fewer people then, as tourists who weren't staying nearby hadn't arrived yet. 5⃣ Inside, you can choose which shuttle bus to take, as the routes and order of visiting the attractions are different. I recommend choosing the Tianxingqiao Bridge ~ Huangguoshu Waterfall ~ Doupotang Waterfall route. Tianxingqiao Bridge requires the longest walk and is the most physically demanding, so we took the first shuttle bus directly to Tianxingqiao Bridge. With fewer people and beautiful scenery, the Silver Chain Waterfall is both magnificent and beautiful, and it was the most touching sight for me. Huangguoshu Waterfall is the main one featured in textbooks, and it is truly spectacular during the high-water season. Doupotang Waterfall is where Journey to the West was filmed. 6⃣ I recommend buying a one-way escalator ticket (uphill). It's a very, very long escalator, and it was my first time experiencing something like that. It saves a lot of energy. 7⃣ When we went to Wanfenglin, the rice had mostly been harvested, which was a bit of a pity. We rented an electric scooter and rode around. Some roads have many ups and downs, so be careful. I personally don't think it's necessary to buy a sightseeing bus ticket (unless it's autumn and the rice paddies haven't been harvested yet).
