I really didn't know about the trip in advance. It was sunny when we arrived in Amsterdam on the first day. We wanted to go straight to the windmill village, but we were delayed by the street scene in the city and decided to leave the next day. Although we knew it would be cloudy and rainy the next day, I didn't expect the weather forecast to be so accurate... It is recommended to come here in good weather, otherwise you will have to give up holding an umbrella and pretend it is not raining and then photoshop in the blue sky🫣 (like me) The most famous waffle shop in Windmill Village, not surprisingly, also requires queuing, but we were lucky enough to try our luck on the way back and didn’t have to queue! Irodion is located in the heart of Zaandam, near Amsterdam in the Netherlands, and it is an excellent Greek restaurant with great food at reasonable prices. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We visited around 9 pm that day, and since the surrounding area of Zaandam is quite quiet, most restaurants were already closed. We were fortunate to find that Irodion was still open. As soon as we sat down, the waiter brought us two shots of strong liquor to taste, and after ordering, he told us that the salad before the meal could be refilled indefinitely! Several historic buildings were added in recent years. The clog workshop is part of museum, part demonstration, part souvenir store, like many of the shops, clogs were made by hand by a craftsman. I loved the chance to soak up the history, explore the windmills, and learn about the Zaan district.
