The best way to enjoy Wagyu is undoubtedly through sukiyaki. Just look at the glistening marbled beef—it's absolutely irresistible! A quick dip in a cast iron pot, followed by a coating of egg yolk, and one bite sends you straight to heaven. This is hands down the most astonishing Wagyu experience ever! It melts in your mouth and leaves a lingering aroma. As for the price, it is understandably steep. NPO Qingkong Yukutakenoko is a kindergarten during the day and a B&B at night. It is located in Yamagata Yonezawa and is a traditional Japanese house. There are many outdoor play facilities for children, such as wooden houses that can be climbed up and down, and a large fire pit in the outdoor area. The teacher even helped us light the fire, so that we can experience the fun of lighting a fire in Japan. There is a huge chestnut tree next to the kindergarten. The children picked fruits under the tree and could see the train passing by in the distance. There is a kitchen and a toilet for children in the kindergarten. There is a kerosene heater in the room. Lotus pond Lotus flowers are abundant in the northwest part of the moat around Matsugasaki Park and Uesugi Shrine! I thought that lotuses bloom from mid-June to early August, but depending on the location and climate, they were in full bloom even in late August. I also thought that the best time to see lotus flowers was in the morning, but I was able to see many flowers even during the lunch hour. You can get quite close to see them. You can enjoy tasting Toko and shopping at the attached sake sales shop🛍️ The brewery is said to have been renovated from a storehouse where sake was actually brewed! The main building of the brewery was built using the traditional "wedge method" construction method that does not use a single bolt. #September2024 ### Yonezawa Toko Brewery: A journey of the charm of sake This time we came to Yonezawa, Japan, and made a special trip to visit the famous Toko Sake Brewery. As one of the representative brands of Japanese sake, Toko is famous not only for the quality of its sake, but also for its profound history and heritage. When you enter the brewery, the first thing that catches your eye is the neat brewing equipment and clean working environment, which makes people curious about the sake making process. During the guided tour, we learned about the brewing process of Toko Sake Brewing, including every detail such as rice selection, soaking, rice steaming and fermentation. The winemaker shared the history of wine making, allowing us to appreciate the hard work and persistence behind this craft. Especially under the high-quality water source and climate conditions of Yonezawa, Toko sake has a unique flavor and aroma. After the tour, we came to the winery's sales counter, which sells special wines that are only available at Toko Brewery. We had the opportunity to taste different types of sake, from the light Ginjo to the rich Junmai, and every sip was amazing. This tasting experience allows us to choose according to our own taste and increases the fun of purchasing. This trip is definitely worth the visit, not only to gain a deeper understanding of the charm of Toko sake, but also to taste the unique flavor. During a hot spring trip to Yonezawa in Yamagata, we went to the Uesugi Count's Residence as part of our Yonezawa sightseeing trip!!! The retro building built in the Taisho era was stylish and very nice😍 ~~~~~~~~~~ What is the Uesugi Count's Residence? ~~~~~~~~~~ It was built on the former site of the Ninomaru bailey of Yonezawa Castle as the residence of the 14th head of the Uesugi family, Count Shigenori. It was once destroyed, but was rebuilt and registered as a tangible cultural property in 2009!!! When I was traveling to Yonezawa, I found out that there was a cafe nearby that used fresh eggs, so I went to ufu ufu FARM!
